Miss Mary Brown, who has been suffering with lagrippe is some better today. Mr. and Mrs. Gus Busick and sou of Fuelling went to Ft. Wayne this morning where they will spend the day. Cecil Harvey from south-west of the city made a business trip to Decatur early this morning.

MUST FILE SOON Candidates for County Office Must Declare Between March 3rd and April 2nd UNDER THE LAWS Legislative and Judicial Candidates File With the Secretary of State With numerous candidates announcing on the democratic ticket it may be well to call attention to the fact they must under the law file declaration of their candidacy between March 3rd and April 2nd. For the offices of prosecutor, representative or senator, congress, this must be filed with the secretary of state while for the other offices the declaration should be filed with the county clerk and unless you do this your name cannot appear on the bal lot. The Indiana law says: "The name of no candidate shall be printed upon the official ballot used at any primary election, unless at least 30 days and not more than 60 days prior to such primary election, a declaration shall have been filed with the secretary of state in the case of a candidate for member of the national house of representatives, member of tile general assembly, judicial office; with the clerk of the circuit court in the case of county office, township offices, member of a county committee." ■ > VAN WERT BOARD HERE The county commissioners from Van Wert county were here ' today and met with- the Adams county commissioners relative to the Teeple and Myers roads. No definite steps were taken in the proposed improvements and the matter was continued until March 11th. -i i a TO BUY ROAD GRADERS The board of county commissioners in special session this morning adopted plans and specifiactions for the purchase of three road graders to be usen by the highway superintendent in his road work. Bids will be received on March 7th. a MANY PUPILS ARE ILL Martin Worthman, superintendent of the public schools announced today tiiat at least 125 pupils in the grades and high school were absent from school today on account of being "laid up” with a cold or the grip. Up until this time the attendance at school has been good. ■ -a MEETING POSTPONED The community meeting which was to have been held at the Kirk ' land high school in Kirkland town - ship has been postponed from Friday night until Tuesday. February 28th. About fifteen Rotarians, a few accompanied by their wives left this morning for Indianapolis to attend the district conference of Rotary at the Claypool hotel.
