Indiana, respectfully petition your honorable body and ask that you construct. complete and Improve with gravel or stone having a suitable binder for hard surface road, a free Bond Improvement over und upon the Public Highway situated on the following route, to-wlt: Commencing at the Township line between Hartford and Wabash townships at the northwest corner of the southwest quarter of Section thirty (30) in Township twenty-five (25) north of rtange fourteen <11) east in Adams county, Indiana, thence running east over the Public Highway on the half Section Line In Sections thirty (30) and twenty-nine (29) to a point where said Highway connects with a brick street in the northeast quarter of the southwest quarter of Se< tlwn twenty-nine (29) In the Town of Geneva In said Township of Wabash. county of Adams, anti state of Indiana. Your petitioners further aver and any that the improvement prayed for herein Is less than three miles In length am) connects at the commencement thereof with the Township line between Hartford and Wabash townships and terminates with an Improved street in the Town of Geneva in said Township; that a Cnited States rural mall route passes over said highway and that the same will be of public utility ami benefit. Your petitioners further aver and say that the highway herein sought to be improved is a public highway already established ami in use, that there is a large amount of public travel thereon and the same is one of the public highways of Wabash township. Y< ur petitioners ask that the said hlghw'ay above described be properly drained and graded; that crushed stone and a sand cushion be placed upon the grade, that upon the same there be placed gravel or stone having a suitable binder for hard surface roads or other solid paving material. Your petitioners further ask that said highway above described be drained and graded ami that the same be improved to a width of forty (40) feet; that the same be graded to a width of thirty (30) feet and that such paving material be placed thereon to a width of eighteen (IS) feet and to such a depth as may be determined by the proper officials having the same to do. and that the same be called the Warren M. Striker Road Improvement. That to pay for said improvement we ask that bonds be issued by the county of Adams in the state of Indiana, payable in twenty semi annua) installments or series, and for tho payment of which we ask that a tax be levied upon the taxable property of said Wabash township in a sufficient sum to pay the interest and principal of said bonds as they become due. That said improvement be made and constructed, and that said bonds be issued and said tax be levied upon the ' taxable property of said township in | accordance with the Acts of the Leg- i islature of the State of Indiana, passed in the year 1905 beginning on page 550 and as amended in the Acts of 1907, and as amended in the Acts of 1 1909, now in force providing for the extension of free gravel or macadam ; loads and all other and any and all amendments thereto. Your petitioners further aver and sav that the improvement prayed for herein is less than three miles in length and connects at the commencement thereof with an improved macadamized street and eeinnects at tho end thereref with a free Tuacadam ro.ol in said township. Your petitioners further aver and say that the highway ami streets herein sought to be improved is a public highway already e«stablished and in use and that said publie* streets are publie- streets laid out ami established and in use and that there is a large amount of public travel over said highway ami public’ streets and that the* same will bo <>f public utility and benefit. Your petitioners further aver and say that the* streets herein proposed to be improve i in their present condition are dirt streets and are not improved with stone or ground or other paving or road material; that the same runs through the inhabitant part of the said town of Berne and with the present conditions of said streets it would be* impossible a greater part of the year to pass over such streets with a fire truck, such as is used in said town to prevent the* loss of property by fire and the spread of said fires: that the following fire wells are located on and along the proposed improvement as follows, towit: One fire well at the intersection of Snrunger and Compromi.se streets, and the other at the intersection of Center and Columbia streets. That the construction of said Improvement will be of public utility and benefit for several reasons and tliat the same ought to be constructed and made as herein proposed.
