AN OVERTURE ♦— ♦ BY THE BAND The city band lias been reorganised and is now practicing regularly and working bard to give you the host band this city has ever had. A num her of new enthusiasts have been en rolled, and, with diligent study and Rtrenuous practicing, will add materially to the excellence of the musical contributions we shall offer for your approval this summer. We appreciate the splendid support given us the past year by our businoss men and our city council, it was the best year financially that the band has ever had. We would suggest, however, that all those afflicted with tender hands begin work by toughen Ing them up for the concert season for we desire to please you with our music and the only way for us to know what you want us to play is by your applause. It doesn’t cost you any thing, but means considerable to us. especially to the fellows who work tooth and toenail to give you a good band. It is seldom that we are capable of presenting an overture thus early in the season, but tills year are prepared to do so. Listen to it. It is called ‘‘Cooperation." Don't you, Mr. Business Man, think it would be mighty fine to arrange your bargain days—or dollar days 11 you wish —so that they came on con cert night? To keep your stores open until concert time that night so that your customers could shop before hearing the music? This, it appears, would bring fanners to town in greater numbers, besides bringing your town customers out, and the fact that we had a hand and that you were behind us would b advertised over the entire surrounding country. Wiiat do you say to a concert bargain day or night each week. Were for you. Are you for us? Think it over, and we’ll arrange concert nights to suit. This is our first overture of the season. Do you like it? THE HAND. Microbes are never found on gold coin; paper money is an ideal harboring place for them.
