niiig. Hut unfortunately dope has los’ as nimiy games as it has won. anil far more important ones, so we refuse to “look out for Monroe," more than wc will “look out" for any other team. While some teams are coming to Do catur with records not so good as others, bacTi lias a fair chance to wir. this tournament. The fact that Mon roe defeated Berne's second team bj such a score that the sporting editor of a metropolitan newspaper declared was impossible if referred proper.v, should not discourage any team, nv even Berne’s first string men, but t:,cy should come back strong, determined to show the “hub” that they are able to put "a spoke in their wheel” oc Caslonally. Tho teum that shows the best sportsmanship, head work, and teamwork, will undoubtedly win and they deserve to win. Our “Fun” No. two should not forget, however, that these games are not being fought out in a bird house, where the side walls are nearly tangent and end circles nearly coincide “But my money is now on the boys from the hub of tlie county and. after the Decatur-Monroe ‘ game Monday night I am sure that some others will wish they had had their money placed likewise.” How quick, indeed, do some works of literature become obsolete.
