A BIG GUSHER Well Yielding About Five Thousand Barrels of Oil a I Ply is “Found" . * ted Press Service) Eldorado. Ark.. Jan. 1^— (Special jo Dally Democrat)—A spouting collumn of black fluid high enough in 'the air to be visible for, several ‘ miles, made a rainbow chasers’ Mecca out of Eldorado, today. | investors, scouts and even farmers round about waged a battle of wits and cash for leases in the new field, following bringing in of the Armstrong No. 1 gusher with a flow estimated between 4,000 and 8,000 barrels of oil a day. Special trains, automobiles and airplanes continued to unload capitalists along witli leather and dungaree-clad huskies. Although the well came in only a few days ago Eldorado has already begun’ to mushroom beyond its limit. Eldorado used to talk in terms of dollars and cents. Today strange men in “city clothes” stand on the street corners or dodge down the middle of main street among the automobiles that have been used so hard the last day or two that they already have a rickety oilfield appearance, and dicker in thousands and hundreds of thousands. And Eldorado is dizzy.
