The Wells county bank this morning took the entire issue of SIOO,OOO worth of Wells county six per cent, jnon-taxable bonds. The bank bought I the issue at par and accrued interest. This is one of the largest single block of bonds eVer offered for sale by the coutny. With the purchase of the bond issue Wells county finances are in excellent shape, according to a statement this afternoonof Deputy Auditor Charles Plessinger. The bank is satisfied with the transcript of the issue and the sale will ‘ stick.” Next Wednesday the county will pay off $25,000 of the borrowed money.—Blueton Banner. Mrs. Elizabeth DeVUlbiss of Detroit is at the A. 11. Bell home for a several weeks’ visit. A telegram from Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Newton enroute to the south said they reached Louisville yesterday morning and expected to make Elizabethtown by last evening. They are all well and enjoying the trip. Robert Schwartz of Berne was a visitor in the city this morning.

BURFORD GETS CONTRACT The commissioners in special session at eleven o’clock this morning, awarded the contract for furnishing stationery to the county during the next year, to the W. 11. Burford company of Indianapolis, there being but one bld filed. This company has hud the stationery contract in this county for a quarter century. NEW HAMBURGER STAND U. E. Cramer has rented the government building, formerly occupied by the Smith & Bell offices on Liberty Way and will open a ney hamburger stand there next week. He is now getting the place ready and expects to have a popular eating house.
