I SOME DISPUTE ■ Indianapolis, Nov. 12.—The question when it is unlawful to shoot ducks in conformity with both state and fed eral laws which conflict as to what period constitutes from sunrise to sunset, is proving difficult to interpret to many duck hunters of the state, according to daily queries received at the offices of the state department ot conservation. Federal laws describe the shooting period during the open season which is September 16 to December 31, inclusive as from one-half hour before sunrise. State laws read from sunrise to sunset. In this case the state law prevails. Hunters see a dilemma if they wish, to hunt the elusive duck on days when it is jloudy and apparently there is no sunrise. Department officials after a discus sion of the subject with federal an- , thorities detrmined that a hunter to . be safe from molestation from state I wardens should consult the weather bureau reading as to the exact time ' of sunrise and sunset on the particular days he intends to hunt. Texas has a new law aimed at preventing strikes in ports and railroad terminals and imposing heavy penalties for interference with workers during labor disturbances in these industries.

I i Indianapolis, Nov. 12. — The game that will decide the college football i championship of Indiana, will be play ( cd at Washington park, IndiantU’olD, ’ Nov. 13 when Notre Dame meetl Indiana university. Coach Uoikne’s Catholics met Purdue at Notre Dame i last Saturday. His team has been i bowing the style of foot Ball this year that causes many football men to believe that with George Gipp on the ' igger end of the forward pass game, Notre Dame has the best football team ill the country. However, Indiana never showed its true strength in the rame against Northwestern university, and while Indiana won by a 10 to 7 score, the athletes from Bloomi igton kept their trick plays under' cover tor the Notre Dame battle. Last [year Notre Dame defeated Indiana by a 16 to 3 score, and last year Notre ; Dame won from Purdue by a 33 to I'l score. This season Indiana has the heaviest team in the state, and as a I result the State university eleven is a powerful defensive combination. | I The question seems to be will Ind-i .ii na's offensive be strong enough to i i f reak down the defense of the fight- : I ing Irish from Notre Dame. Then j 1 again, the Indiana liaeks must show a i i let of speed to cover the Notre Dame I ends, who will be on the receiving 1 end of Gipp’s passes.
