Indiana, as second-class matter. < The decorators are here to dress up Decatur for the fair and old home week and they will call on you to-: morrow. Let's fix up in gala attire,' let's spread a little and let the world I 1 know we are proud of old Decatur and Adams county. Senator Harding has been advised by his managers to get off his front porch and get busy. They realize now they will have to meet Cox and | Roosevelt if they expect to make! even a decent showing in the big campaign which will open Saturday.' A candidate for president who smokes cigarettes and lounges on the front porch will not attract the red blooded voters of America. They prefer a live, energetic, fighting, upstanding man like Jimmy Cox. especially at this time when the country is passing through its after the war reconstruction period. We know the columns of the Daily Democrat are badly crowded this week and we regret exceedingly that we have been unable to buy sufficient paper to print larger editions but- efforts have been in vain and we are doing the very best we can. We propose to get out a paper each day and we will make it just as interesting as we can under all cir< unistauces.

These bright and sunny and com-! (enable days ought to make you smile and work harder and enjoy Ute more. Next week however is the b r fi j vacation period when the people aye coming home and when everybody' will meet at the fair grounds and jiavc a good time. Forget vonr troubles and come out and play next week. You will enjoy it and profit, I The tax tangle tn Indiana it Is predicted will now develope into ninety-1 two mixups for which the tax payers: must pay. Those who are working out tlie facts since the corrective! law was enacted say the task of, straightening out the mess, seems hopeless. The opinion of the people! of Indiana wifi be registered at the November election. It's a difficult thing for us to get used to the prevailing high prices but gradually we seem to be getting there. The old value of labor and I roduct has gone and until for some reason, we believe several ‘years distant there is a radical change in the basis of cost, we must continue t , live and pay under the new schedule. After all more people are prosperous, are buying homes and paying for them and are happier than ever before, so why worry? Folks are coming back to Adams county for the old home week and the big fair and they will not be disappointed. The event will be a hummer in every way and will prove a delightful week. It is a pleasure to meet those who have lived away from here and to show th?tn that this community has progressed with the other parts of the United States. Let's make an effort to give them such a welcome that they will want to come again each time the invite, tion is extended. You will enjoy it as well as they. Mr. Taft says Harding doesn't mean the promises mode to Johnson and Borah and that he said what h<did about the league of nations just

E4 < 1 i I 1 to pacify those who are opposed to it. Surely he doesn't think he can put this over with the people in this day and age. It is more than likely that long before the campaign is well started there will be some serious breaks in the ranks of the machine. Carrying water on two shoulders at ' the same time is a trick that but few I have been able to perform without spilling some of it. Look out for a splash. Details are being worked out be- ’ tween the city and the General Elee--1 trie which it is believed will take care of this big institution and permit them to go as far as they wish to go in enlarging their model ' factory and by the way this company has in mind several improve--1 ments which will materially aid this community. They will no doubt add to their big building soon and it is more than probable that within a few years the industry will be one of the largest in this part of the country. Such a concern deserves and j will receive the co-operative support of the entire community. Let's h'elp them make this a real city. Senator Harding is indulging in a new sport these days, asking foolish questions of Governor Cox. The acceptance speech of the democratic I candidate will answer each question I clearly and from that time on Sena : tor Harding will get his questions I answered promptly and decisively by « the fighting Jimmy Cox. So far as , the latter's opinions are concerned 11 there will be no doubt on any prob I lem and he will tell it to the people I directly and with his own force of convincing argument. Governor Cox I is hit own boss and a real leader and | the country will be for him good and I strong when election day comes. Just remember that. COURT HOUSE NEWS Roy Juday, 35, oil worker, Wilson. Why, 1 had hardly seen a well day during all that time. 1 had indigestion so bad 1 hated to go to the table, for it seemed like every bite I ate sourc and formed into a hard lump in my stomach. The cramps in my stomach were awful and at times 1 became s nauseated I had to lie down right where I happened to be until I could recover. I had sharp pains in my chest and would bloat up with gas so tight that I felt miserable. I had rheumatism in my arms and shoulders and my muscles were so stiff and tore I was in pain nearly every time I moved. Finally I got so bad off I could not get my arms above my shoulders and 1 had to have some .body help me put on my coat. In 'fact. I was almost helpless and had to quit altogether. My complexion turn'd yellow and 1 was as weak as a rag. “That was my condition when ' began taking Tanlac on the advice >f a friend, and now four bottles lave done for me what other medicines failed to do. 1 am brimful of life and energy and am now back at work feeling like my old self again. As for my appetite. 1 can hardly satisfy it and I digest everything 1 ?at without any bad effects. The rheumatism has disappeared and 1 have as good use as ever of my rrms and hands. My complexion has til cleared up and I am sleeping fine every night. Tanlac is a great medicine and I can heartily recommend it.” Tanlac is sold in Decatur at Smith.
