TICDOULOUREAUX CURED BY NEW DISCOVERY Ticdouloureaux, otherwise known as painful tic, or facial or trifacial neuralgia, after being incurable for all these years except bx critical surgery, has at last been conquered, says the Journal of the American Osteopathic association. The cure is neither by the knife or by drugs, but by the fingers of the osteopathic physician. The discoverer is John Deason, 1). 0., of Chicago, who corrects the position of the bones in the neck by osteopathic adjustment, then uses finger surgery, or the so-called bloodless surgery, in the mouth and throat. He also utilizes prolonged irrigation with warm solutions in the nose. It is also sometimes necessary to dilate the nostrils when they are ,too small, but this is done with the little finger of the operator instead of with instruments. —Adv. DRIED APRICOT PIE Pie timber is scarce and very expensive, dried apricots if used right make a delicious pie. Wash and soak over night in just enough water to cover them, when soaked thoroughly drain, place in the pie crust, sprinkle well with sugar, and a little cinnamon. If they seem pretty sour when put to soak put some sugar on them, then more in the pie. The pie may be of one crust or two.
“Big Four” Must Vote for Wood (Continued from page one) ond meeting of the committee on resolutions which drew up the platform during an all-night session. It had forgotten to include planks endorsing the administration of Governor Goodrich and the activities of Senator New and Watson and the others of the state delegates to congress. This was done before the convention opened and 'the platform went through without a hitch. Indianapolis, May 13. —(Special to Daily Democrat)—Following are the healvy planks in the platform of the Indiana branch of the republican party, as adopted by the convention today: The correction of defects in the state tax law. The passage of a "blue sky’’ law. A budget system for state and nation. The erection of a soldiers memorial building, without specifying headquarters for the American Legion. Federal provisions for the promotion of privately owned and operated merchant marine. Legislation to encourage the owner ship of farms and homes. Economy in the state administration Enactment of such laws, or amend ment of present laws, to compel prop er construction and maintenance of highways. Increased salaries for teachers. Amendment of the primary law. Woman suffrage. The appointment of women to state board. A protective tariff. Better housing, health and recrca tional conditions. Improvement of labor conditions including better child labor laws and laws governing the hours of work by women. A rapid and material reduction in federal taxes. A progressive program for the betterment of the school system. The deflation of currency together with increased production, as a moans of reducing the high cost of living. Private ownership of railroads. The restriction of immigration, A small standing army with a trained citizens’ reserve. A tribunal for the arbitration of international disputes. A fixed and forceful policy in solving Mexican problems through diplomatic agencies. | There was a fight developed in the ' committee meeting when the question of state taxation came up. The com irittee first rejected a plank introduced by McCray, but after a hurried conference between party leaders on which McCray obtained a majority in the governorship race. It was adopted immediately as follows: "We commend the last general assembly for its action in revising ths tax law of Indiana. The virtues of this law commend themselves, the defects ~ have been made apparent through its enforcement. We pledge ourselves to immediately correct these defects through proper legislation. We believe that the control of tax levies and bond issues should be restored to local taxing units in order that the right of self-determination and local self-government by the various counties, townships and municipalities of the state may at al times be pre- ' served.’’ I This would tend to remove the “contarlized power’’ of the state tax board which has been under fire. Indianapolis, May 13.—(Special to Daily Democrat) Indiana’s four dele-gates-at-large and many of her district delegates to the republican national convention will go instructed for any presidential candidate, it appeared probable today. | Despite Senator Watson's announcement that he and others of the “regular” slate for the “big four” would ote for General W’ood at the convention, only three districts pledged their delegates to vote for the general, while two districts were pledged for Hiram Johnson. The others of the 13 districts were uninstructed in the caucuses last night and it was up to the convention today to say whether they should be instructed.

CHANCE TO HELP Every Citizen of State Will Be Given Opportunity to Help Mankind. HOME SERVICE APPEAL Os Salvation Army Is Now On —Want the Sum of $452,000 in Indiana. Indianapolis, May 13. —Citizens of Indiana are being called upon this week to "Invest in humanity.' Through the agency of the Salvation Army corps in this state every person who is willing and able to contribute something toward maintaining the social and charitable work which is daily a part of the routine of the army workers, will be given a chance to do his share. In all except a few counties where local conditions have caused a change In arrangements, the Salvation Army's 1920 Home Service Appeal was launched Monday. It will continue until May 20th. The plan ip to enroll every person who is willing to help his unfortunate fellowmen. The persons so enrolling will agree to contribute whatever erum they specify to the Salvation Army as a means of supporting the work ol home service and social uplift. Every individual who joins in the enrollment will be investing whatever he gives in humanity—he will be doing his duty as a citizen in helping those whom misfortune and trouble has thrown on the dependence of the Salvation Army. The sum sought in Indiana is $452,000. Every cent of this is needed if the program which has been mapped out by this organization for the present year is carried out. Raising this quota means milk and ice for sick children and weak mothers this summer, a chance for the man in trouble, help for the wayward girl, food and shelter for the destitute. Failing to raise it will mean denying these same necessities to hundreds of persons who hahe no other recourse than an appeal to the Salvation Army, according to Major R. Robinson, chairman of the executive committee in charge of the appeal in this state. NOTICE!
