Several of the employees of the local banks were Serving on the election boards. F. S. Hunting, manager of the Foit Wayne Works of the G. E. plant and other officials were in the city yesterday conferring with the city council.

J. I). Andrews returned today from Fort Wayne where he has been assisting in taking care of P. L. Andrews who is suffering from doue typhoid fever and is very seriously ill. He had a better night than usual and seemed to bo resting a lit- . tie easier today. W. A. Kunkel and son, of Bluffton, Editor George L. Saunders, of the Bluffton Hanner, and Attorney Simmons, also of Bluffton, motored here this afternoon. The high school boys and girls will conduct a stand at the base ball game

BIC VOTE IN GARY (United Press Service) Gary, Ind., May 4—(Special to' Daily Democrat)—Gary and the Calumet district are polling one of the largest votes in the history of Lake county today, according to reports from many of tho voting precincts. Politicians point to the fact that this district has more than doubled its population since 1910 bringing more than 75,000 voters to this industrial region. It is conceded Johnson will carry this district over Wood, his closest opponent. GIRL’S BODY FOUND (United Press Service) El Centro, Cal., May 4—(Special to Daily Democrat)—Nina Lee Leloney's body was found today. Without the slightest hesitation “blue beard” Charles Harvey lead a searching party to the spot where rested the remains of the woman he confessed to murdering by beating her to death with a hammer. “There is the place," he cited, pointing with a steady finger to a spot half way up a rocky foot-hill. Nearly the entire population of ElCentro, numbering about 500, had followed the party and witnessed the finding of the body. ON TO MEXICO CITY (United Press Service) Agua Prieta, Sonora. Mexico. May 4 —(Special to Daily Democrat) — The revolutionary armies in Mexico will soon start their march on Mex •co City General Colles, field coinr..antler of the revolutionists, declared today. Colles will leave Agua Prieta within three or four days at the head of an army bound for tho state of Chihuahua. There he will join forces with the revolting army. He plans to start ■oath then for the • apital city. Simultaneously another army now marching down the west •oast will have Mexico City for its objective. A third army Colles declared is gathering in the intereior near Mexico City. These three trmies are to unite under Colles’ plan in a movement on the capital. THE COURT NEWS County Clerk John T. Kelly issued twenty-four marriage licenses during the month of April. These licenses were granted during the first twentyfour days of the month. This was the greatest number ot licenses is sued in any one month for some time. Butler vs. Weil Bros. Defendant tiled motion for a venire de novo. In other words the defendant desires the (verdict set aside because of alleged irregularities. Price vs. Price, divorce, J. C. Sutton special judge. Motion by defendant to set aside default overruled. Exceptions by defendant. Court ordered plaintiff to pay to tho clerk of court the sum of $5 as fee of prosecuting attorney. Cause assigned for trial June 4, 1920. In the guardianship of John A Clouser, petition is filed by guardian to lease ward’s real estate. Petition submitted and sustained. FOR NURSES’ HOME Through a transaction which was closed yesterday the Methodist hos pital association has acquired posses sion of the property at the southeast 1 corner of Lewis and Harrison streets from Mrs. Sherman P. Stults. The ■ site will be used for homes forth nurses at the Hope-Methodist hospital. The consideration was not mentioned in the disclosure of the deal. On the property at this time is t. large residence and a four-flat depart ment house. It is planned at this time to utilize both homes as residence homes for the nurses. The land in the. tract measures 36 feet by 149 feet. ARRESTING THEM IN PARIS (United Press Service) Paris, May 4 —(Special to Daily Democrat) — Additional arrests were expected today in the government ~ effort to break the general strike call cd by railway, dock and mine workers to enforce th ir demfinds for nationalization of basic industries. Several radical leaders in various cities were taken into custody yesterday and last night. The cabinet was to meet again today to take further action on the government’s program. The strike, it was learned officially, is considered revolutionary in character.
