Church In afternoon at home of Mrs. F. V>. Downs. Monday Woman’s Club. Tuesday C. L. of C. in evening. Wednesday W. M. A. of the XT. B. church at home of Mrs. John Hill in afternoon. Historical club with Mrs. W E. Smith in afternoon. The Historical club will meet with Mrs W. E. Smith on Wednesday after t noon for their annual election of officers. All members please be pres- ■ ent at this meeting. A most delightful party was in order at the home of Mr. and Mrs J. W. McDonald at 209 South Third street, Wednesday afternoon and evening in honor of Lawrence McDonald whose 21st birthday was in evidence. Mr. Lawrence being a young man of premising ability and very highly respected by all who know him, also his cousin Master Chalmer Werst, nine yea’s of age whose birthday is also recorded on December 31st. The afternoon was spent in music of which there was no limit, band music galore this best on record also several vocal selections were enjoyed by all present. And then came tie presentations of tokens of love and esteem from every source, the most touching scene being the gift from the parents presented by the father in the form of a gold signet ring with the initial enrraved on it. The few words spok en In presenting the gift were surely felt by all present. Then last but not least was the board of repast, groaning under the weight of the many good things to satisfy a hungry appetite, even chicken was not omitted from the bill of fare. And then, Ob hush’ Nuff said. Those present be sides the immediate , family were Master Chalmer Werst the accom plice-grand, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Werst Chester and Adrian Werst, Mr. anc Mr«. Rincon Bodie. Mr. and Mrs. OtiMil’er and two daughters Beatrice and Bernice Miller, Mrs. Rosa Baoll Mrs Mae Sanders and son Willie Mr. Isaac Deeringer. Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Werst and children. Miss Anna Werst, Mr. Joby Wrest. Master Ollie We st. Misses Luella Werst, Misses Iti'i and Slnora Werst. Hoping that these two young men may enjoy many more birthdays we bid them a very happy and prosperous New Year. + The W. M.
