SOCIETY DOINGS At the regular meeting of the Paetorul Helpers of the Christian church which was held at (he homo of Mrs. Hurt Mangold yesterday afternoon a large number were in attendance. During the business period the election of officers for the coming year resulted in the following selections: President, Mrs. Minnie Dunlols; 2nd President, Mrs. C. It. Weaver, Secretary, Miss Florence Uichtensteiger: and Treasurer, Mrs. 0. T. Burk. A very enjoyable social hour followed. Mrs. Mangold served tempting refreshments. IPN • .Mrs. Carl Noble proved a very pleasing hostess last evening when she entertained the D. Y. B. Class of the U. B. church. She was assisted by Mrs. Oswald, and Mrs. Harry Poling in entertaining. Her home was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. The regular business was disposed of. Instead of the usual Christmas exchange they decided to give a new years gift toward the building fund. A number of visitors were present. The evening was spent very pleasantly with contests. Mrs. Noble served a very delicious lunch to the ladies. Tlie Pocahontas lodge members had another so their delightful social affairs laFt. evening, after the regular Mecca Theater TONIGHT t “Wanted Murder” A big production and a feature extraordinary, featuring the newly made star, the beautiful Elaine Hammerstein A picture dwelling on the events of the recent war, showing the destruction of the Germans, and the work of the German officers. Johnsons and slipped in the house ( while Mrs. Walters was upstairs. As a ruse someone called to ask if the ladies quartet might meet at her , 1 : home. The ladies brought with them 1 ! pop corn balls and apples for refresh- ! ments. They pesented her with a ' lovely cut glass dish as a Christmas 1 gift from the class. The evening waspent in a very pleasant way with 1 games. Mrs. J. W. Vail and Ida Weldv were gohsts besides the regular class. ♦ Philathea Class of the Baptist church met with Mrs. S. It. Shamp last evening. Her home was decornt ed with the Christmas colors. Mrs. | Edgar Lewis gave a Christmas reading iand Miss Ruby Miller a piano solo which was appreciated by all. The usual business was disposed of, aud the ladies had an exchange of Christ mas gifts.
