Harvard grads here last night, urging contributions to the “cause” that competent professors might be retained. I TRAFFIC TIED UP (United Press Service) Milwaukee, Wjts.-, Sept. 18—(Spe- . cial to Daily Democrat) —Nearly 200 freight handlers, members of the longshoremen’s union, failed to report for work today, tying up operations on nearly all Superior merchandise docks. The Great Northern business was handled with less than half a normal force. The strikers demand 65 cents an hour with 80 cents for overtime and Sunday work. This department of the Red Cross has multiplied many-fold the number of trained social workers of the country, as many Home Service workers have had a special course ! fitting them for definite service.
