A large crowd of visiting Knights of Columbus are expected here for the day. TWO COUSINS RETURN HOME Mrs. Jesse Gilbert, of West Patterson street, has a letter from her cousin. Private John Numbers. 124th F. A. stating that he arrived from overseas' Saturday, May 24, and is at Camp, Mills. L. I. Says he expects to be home in a week or so. He has been j in service the greater part of thret< years. He was on the Texas border, for a while and soon after lie came home was mustered in for the world! war. He was stationed at Camp ■ Shelby for some time, and last July| was sent overseas. His heme is at, Portland but he has often visited in Decatur. Sergeant Joel Vaughn of the 34th engineers, another cousin of Mrs. Gil-j bert, also came over on the same boat. His home is in Union City. Ind., but was bern near Decatur. He has been in service about a year. Mrs. Elizabeth High went to Mon roeville Tuesday to visit her daughter. Mrs 1 , jl'ora Taylor. She had been visiting the ast month with her granddaughter, Mrs. Jesse Gilbert and lr-r son, Wm. Highlen. COURT HOUSE NEWS The case of Catherine Hunt, administratrix. vs The City of Bluffton, for SIO,OOO, damages, continued in circuit court today. Mrs. Hunt was on the witness stand an hour or two this morning. It was the opinion of attorneys that the plaintiff ' evidence would be concluded this afternoon. A blank affidavit was filed in court this morning by Prosecutor Lenhart, and the cause placed on the criminal; i docket. It was made blank to permi'; arrest before being made public. i r Tetters were granted to William ' H. Teeple as executor cf the estate of Mary E. Smith. He gave bond for $1,400. J. W. Teeple is attorney. Louis Weis was appointed executory of the estate of Susanah P. Weis, and 1 gave bond for S3OO. J. F. Fruchte, at ' torney, filed the papers. The real estate transfers show the deeding of inlot 318, Decatur to Frank P. Carroll, extr., the consideration being $1,900. BIG SHOW AT REX THEATER TONIGHT The Rex theater is going to offer tonight another big combination at- ‘ traction, consisting of vaudeville and 1 musical comedy, and a feature program of pictures, which includes; “The Tiger’s Trail,” and one of those Lioyd comedies, all for one price of admission, and no doubt theater go-, ers of Decatur will take advantage | 'of this big amusement program I which Manager Kist is offering. Brokaw has returned frc:n Garrett, Ind., where he visited his grandson, Truman Johnson, who was injured when an automobile struck him while riding a bicycle. As a result of the accident, Mr. Johnson suffered a painful injury to his leg. a deep gash having been cut above the ' knee. He was taken tq the Sacred Heart hospital where medical treatment was given and ie getting along nicely. Mr Brokaw stated that the autcmobile which hit him was going slowly, thus preventing a more serious accident.
