TODAY IS LAST DAY (United Frees Service) Indianapolis May 15 Peter J. Kruyer, collector of internal revenue in Indiana today rung down the curtain on returns of information concerning slackers of income tax. Today was the time limit set by Kruyer for persons, firms or corporations employing any labor to tell the federal government how much their employes received. He wanted the names and addresses of all individuals to whom payment of salaries, wages, rents, interests, commissions and other gains, profits and income exceed SI,OOO during 1918. “Banks, trust companies, and similar institutions must make returns of information showing interest paid to accredited to the account of an individual if the amount so credited or paid was SI,OOO or more,” Kruyer said. "Real estate agents are required to report the gross amount received in rents or other income and remitted to their principals of such amounts were SI,OOO or more. “The penalty for failing to make a return on time is a fine of not more than SI,OOO. TO RECOGNIZE NORMAL SCHOOL (United Press Fsrvice) Indianapolis, May 15 — Detailed plans for recognizing normal schools throughout the state under the normal school law passed by the last legislature were to be completed by the state normal school board at its meeting today. It is planned to approve temporarily all schools accredited as "C” for issuing elementary provisions; certifications to teachers. A summary of the plans to be perfected follows: All standard colleges will be permitted to issue high school provisional certificates to all graduates who have completed twenty-four semester hours of professional work. A term hour will be used as the
