We, the undersigned, each and all ut whom are resident adult freeholders , and voters of Hartford Township, in Adams County, Indiana, respectfully petition your honorable body and ask that you construct, improve and complete a free macadamized stone road in said township o\>r and upon the public highway situated on the following route, to-wit: (’onimencing at the southwest corner of the southwest tuiarter of sections sixteen (16), in township twen-t.v-five (2.r) north, range thirteen (13) east, in Adams County. Indiana: thence running east on the section line between sections sixteen (16) and twen-ty-one (21). and terminating at the southeast corner of the southwest quarter of said section sixteen (16) aforesaid. Your petitioners aver and say that the improvement prayed for is less than three (3) miles in length. Connects at both ends with a free macadam road in said township and that a United States rural mail route passes over the highway herein sought to be improved. Your petitioners further aver and say that the highway herein sought to be improved is a public highway already established and in use and is one of the publio highwas of said Hartford Township and that the same will be of public utility and benefit. Your petitioners ask that said highway above described be drained and graded and that broken stone be placed upon the grade and that upon such broken stone there be placed Mono screenings. Your petitioners further ask that said highway above described be improved to the width of 40 feet and that said highway be graded to the width of 24 feet and that broken stone b pplaced thereon to a width of 12 feet and t oa depth of S inches at the sides thereof and to the depth of 12 inches in the center thereof and that crushed stone screenings he placed thereon to a depth of 4 inches upon such broken stone.
