Michaud has returned from Lake Charles, la., where he attended to business. The dance at the Masonic hall Friday evening, promises to be be an enjoyable one. Special music. Word has been receiveil that several more Decatur boys will be here from Camp Shelby for a new Year’s visit. Mrs. Ed Bleeke. of Union township, went to Fort Wayne, this morning for a holiday visit with her son. Herbert and her daughter, Mrs. Lewis Gerke. How’s this for October weather? And what has become of that blizzard promised to Ire on its way from Dakota? It must have side tracked and we hope it stays there. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hall, of Blue Creek township were the recipiants of a girl baby on Christmas day and they feel that Santa Claus treated them kindly. Everybody recovering. Burt Townsend and family of Kokomo were the guests of relatives and friends here over Christmas. Burt has been elected to manage a new 490 room hotel to be erected during the next few months in Chicago. John Gillig. government inspector of the new postoffice building at Evans ville, is here for a few days visiting with his parents. His father. Amos Gillig. one of the best known men of the county, is quite ill. having been bij failing health since July when he suf-, sered an attack of the heart.

Kern, returned today to Elkhart where they will visit before returning to their home in Chicago. Orvis, son of Wilford Miller of Convoy. returned from Morhead, Minn., where he has been working on a farm for nine months. He says the man he works for has 50.000 bushels of potatoes awaiting spring prices. • Marcus Jahn, father of Mrs. Fred Bentz of this town, is very low at ( present and not expected to live. His son. Ralph, who is stationed at San I Antonia. Texas, has been ordered to 'the camp at Dayton. Ohio, by Friday lof this week.—Berne Witness.

Dykeman is advertising his big annual stock sale to occur Thursday, January 3rd when he will sell forty head of O. I. C. hogs and ten tead of registered cattle. Messrs. I. W. Macy, William Linn ami Robert Colter, accompanied by the Misses Lois Connell. Ireta Butler and Hallie Leonard, motored to Fort Wayne last evening. Mr. and Mrs. J. C Polhemus. of Upper Sandusky, O. who spent Christinas here with Mrs. Minnie Wilkinson, returned to their home today. Mrs. Wilkinson accompanied them to Fort Wayne. The lecture course to be given by the Masonic lodge will open January 16th and you will want to hear each one of the three entertainments. They ' are all high class. Plan to buy a season ticket. Miss Frances Dugan, who is teaching in lowa, and Miss Dorothy, who is a student at Vassar, are also home. The Rotary club will meet al the Hotel Murray at 6:30 o’clock Thursday evening. Rev. Seimetz will be a guest of honor and will make a talk to the members. The boys are anticipating a delightful couple of hours as tbe occasions are always most enjoyable and this one is sure to be so.
