SEND THEM TODAY Gifts for Boys in Khaki and Donations to Christmas Cheer Fund Should BE SENT AT ONCE To Courier-Journal, Louisville—Distributed to Boys at Camp Taylor. I»llirtVille, Doc. 15 The danger feared most by those in charge of the Christmas celebration at Camp Taylor is that frienda and relatives of the boys in khaki will wait, until the lasi few days before Christmas to send in their gilts or money contributions l<> the fund being raised by the l,ouls viile Courier-Journal Camp Zachary Taylor ( hristmas Cheer Club for the Yuletide celebration. Tlie task of earing for and dis tributing gifts for 40,000 men is :. colossal one oven under the most fa vorable circumstances, but if th.' usual Christinas procrastination is! practiced this year a serious conges ■ lion is certain to ensue and the work I of the Camp Zachary Taylor Chri.dmas Cheer Club will be seriousliy hampered. Any head of a family of five or six
who has had tho task of managing,' the Christinas celebration for such a 1 small unit knows that, he has his. hands full. But when the family is | as large as that at (’amp Zacharyj Taylor It can readily be understood that those directing this work will be rushed with work during the last few days. They are anxious, therefore, that those people who intend to send gills either to individuals or to the general fund should not delay doing so. Another danger is that too many persons will feel that the contribution each might be able to make would be so small that it would net count in the aggregate. If every person or household in the communities sending soldiers should xive ever o little toward the fund the aggregate result would be a handsome tot.il that would gladden the hearts of the brave boys who are to face the Prussian menace so that those people who stay at home may l>e safe and comfortable. The -Courier-Journal Camp 2hch ary Taylor Christmas Cheer Club is urging that every individual give something, if only a “mite.”
