Wc call your attention to the series of ten articles written by fatuous newspaper men, the lirst of which. by Luke MeLuke, humniorist for the Enquirer, appears today. The out Monday is by Kin Hubbard of the Indi, nnpolis News They are gents and they call attention to the Liberty Bonds with argument presented in . a most readable way. Be sure to read th m for you will enjoy them whether you want a bond or not. Work harder and advertise is a go -**■ rulo in these days of war and high prices even more so than in ordinary times. After the smoke of battle has cleared away it will be found that quite a. number of men. hustling a.id ever at it men, will have profited financially while the competitor whl sits down and grieves will have been left <br behind. The country is prosp rous. billions of dollars are being t xpended. The man who knows Ute jiower of advertising will reap a ri h „ harvest. Think it over merchants. Plans for Decatur's new high school building have been approved by all the boards as required under the law. Further than th;:. Huy have been declared so good that‘if carried out th-y will give this community the most complete aiTvl in every way most modern school in tile middle west. it would be a worthy and a most excellent reputati >n atm it is to be hop si that our citizens will prove the ,:- selves big enough for the job. Isis build till.- school that mean/ so mu T for future Decatur and lets build it right while we are at it. Do you realize that Adams county is making a very poor showing in she Liberty Bend campaign and that so far but a small amount of the S3O -.- 000 allotted to this rich county have bei n taken? It-is true and it is high time that we move out briskly if we do not want to be pointed at as “slackers” in this great and impoitant work. Its a case where the government is paying you 3fe per cent to do your bit and*it seems that eve-y one who possibly can ought to at least buy a bond or two. Even if you havn't the cash, that has been arranged. for you can pay for them by the week. Won't you? Why not a six cent piece of money these days of odu prices, ever upward and onward? While we do not doubt that the treasury department know the country's need, we expect to >, they are busy merchants these days and perhaps have not noticed that the price of many commodities which

have soft! at five cents have now been advanced to six, making the matter, of penny change a nuisance. The pro duett now selling.or about to sell at the mid prices include soap, matches, I newspapers, salt and tiny number of others. Why not furnish a piece »f change which will conform with ihis ' lorced boost in j-etal) prices? We believe it would be a convenience th t would be appreciated. Cigars ulid other articles should be advanced that the dealer may live and they need the six cent piece of money to do so.
