Christen, who has been very ill of quinsy this week, is better and will probably be able to return to school Monday. Miss Violet Van Hart returned on the 3:22 train yesterday afternoon to Kendallville after a visit here with tin Misses Esther Butler, Murtha McCrory and other friends. The month of April, 1917. was a busy month for the Wells county marriage license clerk. There were 20 licenses issued during the past month, compared with nine licenses in April, 1916. The Amos Yoder residence on We-t Monroe street is being handsomely remodeled and will be occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Yoder who recently sold their other residence on Seventh street nearby Jo A. C. Foos. Dr. Harris Jones is in receipt of a letter from the U. S. army surgeongeneral, asking him to report at Indianapolis in the near future for an examination for a position in the medical reserve corps for which he made appli'atiuli some time ago.
