WHY NOT open a cheeking account for your wife? It will permit her to transact her affairs in the same businesslike way in which you do it; it provides her with a receipt for all expenditures and it will prove to be an act of thoughtfulness on your part which she will appreciate.

Snodgrass (Written for the United Press) All the swatters who can never swat all of the flies. Something mote drastic must be done if we are to got rid of these troublesome and dang- rcus pests. Tile great majority of flies are pro- ( duced in horse manure. Enough will I breed in a small pile of manure along the roadside to keep a score of swatters busy. Every stable breeds millions of flies all summer. But the pests are not generated by manure. Flies l come from small, white maggots and the maggots come from eggs laid by flies. Therefore the only effective reineuy against flies is to protect manure from them or to treat it with something that will kill maggots. All stable manure should be put at once into screen covered bins while the edges of uncovered piles, wlu -h is the part in which the maggots live, should be sprinkled with a solution! of powdered hellebore. A half pound in ten gallons of water will be enou :h for eight bushels of manure. Hellebore will not injure manure for fe.-t---illizing purposes. Cess pools should he treated with the powdered borax which is more deadly to fly maggots than belle- j bore, but it is injurious to plant | growth if used in manure. Flies not only breed in cess pools but they collect disease germs there which they will later carry into the dining room. For this reason cess pools should he ( made fly prdof. Flies travel long distances, however and such anti-fly measures will be al fec-tive only when adopted by a whole community. Until the entire publiccan be persuaded or compelled by law to take these precautions, individuals must be contented with fly traps, poisons. screens and swatters. KEEP LOOKING YOUNG It s Easy—ls You Know Dr. Edwards’ Olive Tablets The secret of keeping young is to feel young—to do this you must watch your liver and bowels —there’s no need of having a sallow complexion—dark rings under your eyes—pimples—a bilious look in your face—dull eyes with no sparkle. Your doctor will tell you ninety per cent of all sickness comes from inactive bowels and liver. I Dr. Edwards, a well-known physician in Ohio, perfected a vegetable compound mixed with olive oil to att on the liver and bowels, which he gave to his patients for years. Dr. Edwards’ Olive Tablets, the substitute for calomel, are. gentle in their action, yet always effective. They bring about that exuberance of spirit, that natural buoyancy which should be enjoyed by everyone, by toning up the liver I and clearing the system of impurities, j You will know Dr. Edwards’ Olive I Tablets by their olive color. 10c and 25c per box.
