Andrews a sergeant in the Indiana volunteers for the Spanish American war, that he was too old for service in the present conflict. Just as soon as the call came, Sergeant John offered himself for duty. However the age limit of forty-five years bars him from further duty for his country. When ask’d for news today he said, “Yes, I've got a bunch of bad news." IN MEMORIAM Rolla D. J. Schneck, son of Rev. D. J. and Amanda Schneck. was born at the present home near Pleasant Mills on August 6th, 1886. He was married to Catherine Gordon of Bluffton. Ind., July Bth, 1916. After a short but very happy life of only a few months he departed this life March 14th, 1917, age 30 years, 7 months, and 18 days. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife, a mother, two brothers, Rev. John Schneck of Grand Rapids. Minn, and Charles of near Pleasant Mills, three sisters. Grace at home, Mrs. Margaret Campbell of Bluffton, Ind. and Mrs. Ida Fishbaugh of Mendon, Ohio, and a host of friends. No time for a last farewell. No time for the schock of fear, Scarcely a moment's halt on the shore. With the guide and the boatman near— Dear, how surprised you wole to go, With little to suffer, little to know, Then steal away, give little warning Choose thine own time; Say not good night—but in some better clime Bid me good morning.
