Mrs. Joe Roe of Pleasant Mills left yesterday noon for Hamlet to visit with her son, W. M. Secauer. Mrs. Mart Burkhead and children left yesterday afternoon for Sturgis, Mich., for a visit with relatives. Michael Miller visited in Delphos last evening and attended the municipal Christmas tree celebration. Ihe city schools closed yesterday for the holiday vacation which will extend until the day after New Year’s. Mr. and Mrs. James Artman and son. Miss Delhi Clark will leave Sundayevening for Bluffton for a visit with, her sister. Mrs. Ed Mosure, over Christmas. Tuesday she will go to Marion to be the guest of a cousin. Mrs. Floyd Ranger. Earl O. Hendricks writes us from Huntington that he has signed a two years the Gus Sun Vaudeville and that M*-s. Hendricks also travels with the company, being the pitylist. The Vaudeville Company will start out on January First and will be on the road until next Thanksgiving. •

The Christmas masses at the St. Mary's Catholic church will be held at 5:00, 7:30 and 9:30. The early mass will bo the regular Christmas mass. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Acker and daughter, Mildred, left .today for Indianapolis to spend Christmas with Mrs. Acker's parents, the Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Dawson and family. The club needs a few more "Tommies”. John Holloway. 82, resident of Geneva for about fifty years, died on Thursday morning after a year’s illness of Bright’s disease. Mr. Hollo-
way was an Ohio soldier and won special mention for bravery at Vicksburg, where he commanded several batteries of artillery. He helped organize the G. A. R. post in Geneva in 1882 and was commander for ten s’ears. His wife has been helpless for over a year and owing to extreme age. is not expected to survive. Their daughter. Mrs. Ida ftot'd, of Chicago. is taking care of her. Funeral Saturday at 2 o’clock. Dwight and Robert Peterson arrived home last evening from Bloomington, where they are attending the state university. Dwight is “makeup" man on the University Student, and the appearance of that splendid daily is best proof of his ability. Robert is sporting editor and for the benefit of those who don’t know it, we want to tell you that job is the one most sought for in the university. He mingles with the famous athletes of that college as well as others, he is ( at all the sporing events, and is some "kid” about the campus.
