HAVJ: YOU A GOITER OR A "BIG NECK?", I ’ If so, do You Wish it Treated and Removed Without an Operation? If you aro one of the ninny who! nre unfortunate enough to suffer from a condition known as Goiter or "hlg neck," you will he interested in reading this article. Golfer Is an over- j growth or an enlargement of the thyroid gland, which is situated in the ! lower front portion of the nock. It Is very much more common in women than men, and still more common in young women, and girls.; There are four general types or kinds of, and all four give rise to certain common Bymptoms, namely shortness of breath particularly upon exertion, Dr. Fruth . ___ _________ ! difficulty in swallowing, palpation of the heart, a sense of constriction around the neck as though it. were inclosed in a tight collar, and very often a short, dry. aggravating cough, in addition to these symptoms, the' exopthalmie, often called the “ln- t grown” goiter causes a marked ner- j vousness, protruding eyeballs, and a constantly increased heart rate associated with irregularity and palpi-' tation. There is also a loss of body' weight, loss of strength, sleepless-1 ness and inability to work, without simply “going to pieces.” This kind or type of Goiter is by far the most i serious, and is a menace or danger j to life, death often resulting, in untreated or incorrectly treated cases. Can Goiter be cured? This is the j question that will interest all who suffer from it; I will say, that an ex- j tremely large per cent of all Goiters) can be, and without operation or the j knife, providing, of course, that they be treated by a physician or a spec-' ialist, who is thoroughly experienc-1 ed and therefore treated correctly, l scientifically and with the full co-op-eration of the patient. Far too many Goiter patients run the risk of a dangerous, delicate operation, without ever giving medical treatment a trial, or without attempting anything other than to have it “cut” out. . Therefore a very large per cent are operated on, unnecessarily, or operated on when a cure would have been possible by medical means. I have‘ frequently observed two patients with ' similar goiters, one which was op- j erated upon, and the other treated i with medicine, with the result that; both were cured; the one that whs | operated upon was forced to remain I in the hospital for a week or longer.!" thereby losing valuable time, had. taker, a chance that might have re- 1 suited in their death, had suffered an untold amount of pain, had receiv- ! ed a scar that would mar their neck,! and in addition had expended a sum j of money, in excess of one hundred; and fifty dollars. While the one treated medically had gone about their every-day work, had run no chance of losing life, had suffered nn pain, had received no scar, and besides had expended a decidedly smaller sum of money for the same results. Therefore if for no other reason, it is a business policy to have this condition treated by a specialist, and ! treated without operation. Or in other words, with medicines, which have been tried, proven and found satisfactory. Such is the kind of treatment that * t offer, absolutely scientific, a meth- ! od of treatment that has not proved successful in a few selected cases, but. one that lias been the means of curing hundreds afflicted with Goiter. S'cres of patients have consulted . mo, after they have given up all hopes of securing results other than by an operation. I accepted them for treatment, and treated them to their entire and complete satisfaction, sent them on their way rejoicing, as they had reason to, for they had escaped, the always much dreaded and ever to be feared knife. , When a patient suffering with goiter, or any other long standing chronic disease, consults me, I examine them carefully, 1 answer ar.y questions they may desire to ask, explain their condition, and advise them the proper measures to take: If they desire to take treatment and their case is one which can be treated sue cessfully. I tell them. Thou if thoy desire me to treat them, I do so, but they are at no time under any obligation whatsoever to take or contract for treatment. So you see the patient takes no chance in consulting me, for consultation, examination and advice, are free and confidential. Remember my remedies* treat ments and methods are those which have been tried and proven by my own personal experience, and in addition combined and strengthened with | the newest, latest and most modern ’ known to science and the medical
| profession.
