‘ MARION RAISES THE EDGE. j Marion, Ind., May 26- Marlon, without saloons for six years, yesterday emphasized its decision tor a saloon- ■ less city by giving a “dry" majority of 729, a gain of 606 in comparison with the vote at a local option election tw-o years ago. While the prediction was almost general that the I "wots" would again «be defeated, and tlie “drys” were confident of increasing their majority, possibly to the 4001 mark, the unusual majority against the saloon came as a surprise. Tlie I prediction is now made on all sides i that yesterday's vote means the saloon uestion has been decided in this city permanently tind tfiat no attempt to. hold another election in two years will bo made.
