Before the Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams. We the undersigned each and all of whom are residents freeholders and voters of Union Township and Root Township in Adams County, Indiana, respectfully petition your honorable body to cause to be 'built, constructed and completed by grading, draining, and the placing of crushed stone there-j ■on a double track stone road, over,' along and upon the highway already .established on the following route, towit: Commencing at the northwest cor- ‘ ner of section eighteen (18) in township twenty-eight (28) north of range fifteen (15) east, Adams County, State of Indiana, /here connecting with the John Bucher Macadam Road, an already constructed free macadam road,' thence south along the township line' between section eighteen (18), town- ( ship twenty-eight (28) north, of range fifteen (15) east, and section thirteen (13), township twenty-eight (28) north 1 of range fourteen (14) east, said coun-i ty and state, one mile and terminating at the southwest corner of section | eighteen (18), township twenty-eight (28) north, of range fifteen (15) east, said county-and state, at the Bleeke Ma'cadam Road, said proposed improvement being one mile in length and located in the County of Adams and the State of Indiana. Said petitioners further show that the said proposed improvement will be on an established highway and will connect on its northern end with an already constructed free macadam road and on its southern end with an already constructed free macadam road; that said proposed improvement will be less than three miles in length and that there is now located on and passing over the route thereof a United States Rural Mail Route. That said proposed road will be

known and called Pleasant Grove Macadam Road. We further ask that said road he Improved by placing thereon crushed stone covered with screenings to such depth and width as the viewers and engineer may recommend. We further ask that you take such action on this petition as you are authorized to do under and by virtue lof an act of the general assembly of the State of Indiana, approved March ( 8, 1905, and acts amendatory thereto, and under and by virtue of any and all laws of the State of Indiana, au.thorizlng the construction of free macadamized or stone roads. | We further ask that said improveI tnent be paid for by bonds issued by said Adams County for and on behalf of said townships of Union and Root, payable In twenty semi-annual installments and for the payment of said bonds we ask that u tax be levied upon the taxable (property of said townships in sufficient amount and rate to pay the interest and principal of said bonds as the same shall severally become due and payable as provided by law’, II We further ask that said proposed road be ordered constructed without | first having submitted the question of ' the building and construction thereof I to an election of the viders of said i township. 1 .
