PETITION FOR A MACADAM ROAD. State of Indiana, County of Adams. Before the Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams. We the undersigned each and all of whom are residents free-holders and voters of Union Township and Boot Township in Adams County, Indiana, respectfully petition your honorable body that you construct and complete u tree macadamized stone road on and over the public highway dividing Union and Root townships aforesaid situated on the following route to-wit: Commencing at the South East corner of section Twenty-five (25), Township Twenty-eight (28), North Range Fourteen (14>, East running thence North over the public highway for a distance of two (2) miles on the East ern boundry of Sections Twenty-four (24) and Twenty-five (25) Township and Range aforesaid and on the Western boundery of Sections Nineteen (19) and Thirty (30) in Township twenty-eight (28) North Range fifteen (15) East and terminating at the North East corner of Section Twenty-four (24) Township Twenty-eight (28) North Range Fourteen (14) East all in Adams County, Indiana.

Your petitioners show that the im- , provement prayed for herein is less ( than three miles in length is on the ( boundary line between Union Town- , ship and Root Township and conects | at both ends with a free macadam road f and that a United State Rural Mail t Route passes over a part of said high- 1: way. Your petitioners further show I that more than ten of the petitioners herein are from each of the townships ( agected.and to be effected by this im- ] provement. Your petitioners further show that ' the highway thus sought to be im- , proved is a. public highway already ( established and in use and is one of the public highways on the boundary line of said Townships. f Your petitioners ask your honorable body that said highway heretofore des- s cribed be drained, and graded and that e broken stone be placed upon the grade v and that upon such broken stone there t be placed stone screenings. 1 Y'our petitioners further ask that a said highway above described be grad- ? ed to a width of 24 feet, and that 11 broken stone be placed therein to o width of 10 feet and to a depth of 8 inches at the sides thereof, and to a a depth of 10 inches in the center thereof, and that crushed stone screenings « be placed thereon to a depth of 4 * inches upon such broken stone, that 8 said improvement be made a double 5 track and that the name of the same 1 be The Drummond Macadam Road. That to pay for said improvement, we ask that bonds be issued by the County of Adams in the States of Indiana payable in twenty semi-annual installments or series and for the payment of which we ask that a tax be levied upon the taxable property of Union township in a sufficient amount to pay the interest and principal of said bonds as they become due That said improvement be made and constructed, that said bonds be issued, said tax be levied upon taxable pro erty of said townships in accordance with the Acts of the Legislature of the State of Indiana passed in the year 1905, beginning on page 550 and as amended in the Acts of 1907. and as amended in the Acts of 1909, now in force providing for the extension of free gravel or macadam roads and all other and any and all amendments thereto. We further ask that the Board take all of the necessary steps required by law to have said improvement constructed without submitting the question of building the same to an election of the voters of said Union Township and that the Board construct the same under the laws of the State of Indiana now ir. force providing for the extension of free Gravel of Macadam Roads bytownship taxation. Before the Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams. We the undersigned each and all of whom are residents free-holders and voters of Washington Tp., Adams Co., Ind., respectively petitioned your Honorable body and ask that you complete and construct a free macadamized stone road in said ownship over and upon the public highway and street situated on the following route to-wit: Commencing at the North-east corner of lot No. 431 in Nuttman's Northwestern Addition to the Town (now City) of Decatur, Adams County, Indiana, running thence East over and upon the public highway and street and terminating at the North-east corner of lot Not 237 in the First Addition to the Town (now City) of Decatur, Indiana: Also, The approach on the street from the East onto this improvement be improved, graded and macadamized from the end of the proposed improvement back to the East for a distance of at I least 450 feet: ■ Also, 1 That the approach from the South j at the end of this Improvement be , graded and macadamized to the South 1 on such street for a distance of about ' 600 feet. ’ Your petitioners are of the opinion r that the approaches above mentioned j ought to be made for the protection i of the proposed imrovement. ■ your petitioners aver and say that ' Improvement preyed for herein is less I'than three miles in length connect!

Your petitioners further aver and say that the street or highway herein sought to be improved is a public street and highway already established and in use and Is one of the public highways and streets within the City of Decatur. Indiana aforesaid and that, the same will be of public utility and benefit. Your petitioners ask that said street and highway above described and approaches thereto above described be drained and graded and that broken stone be placed upon grade and that upon such broken stone there be placed stone screenings. Your petitioners further ask that said highway and street above described be improved to width of 30 ft. and the stone screening be placed thereon to -t width of twenty-eight feet and to a depth of ten inches at the sides thereof and to a depth of twelve inches in the center thereof and that crushed depth of four inches upon such broken screenings be placed thereon to a stone: that said improvement be made a single track and the name of the same be the J. O. Sellmeyer macadam road. That to pay for said improvement we ask that bonds be issued by the County of Adams, in the State of Indiana payable in Twenty semi-annual installments or series and for the payment of which we ask that a tax be levied upon the taxable property of said Washington Township, in a sufficient amount to pay the interest and principal of said bonds as they become due. We further ask that said improvement be made and that said bonds be issued and jsaid tax levied upon said property of said Township in accordance with the Acts of the legislature of the State of Indiana passed in the year 1905 beginning on page 550 and as amended in Acts of 1907, and as a mended in Acts of 1909 now in force providing for exension of free grave! : or Macadam Roads and any other and all amendments thereto. PETITION FOR A MACADAM ROAD. Stare or Indiana, County of Adams, in the Commissioners Court of Adams County, Indiana. To the Board of Commissioners of Adams County. Indiana. We, the undersigned, each and all of whom are residents, free-holders and | voters of Union Township In Adams County, Indiana, respectfully petition your Honorable Body and ask that you construct and complete a free macadmized stone road in said township over and upon the public highway situated n the follC|ving rout? to-wit: Commencing at the souih-eust cor ner of Section twenty-eight (28) town ship twenty eight (28) North, Range fifteen (15) East in Adams County, Indiana. running thence North between sections Twenty-eight (28) and twentyone (21) on the West and sections twenty-seven (27) and twenty-two (22) on the East to the North East corner of Section twenty one (21) in said township aforesaid and there to terminate. all in Union township as afore said. Your petitioners further aver and say that the improvement prayed for is less than three (3) miles in length and conects at the commencement thereof with a free macadam road and ends on a macadam road and is wholly within said township. Your petitioners aver and say that the highwaf herein sought to be improved is a public highway already • stablished and in use is one of the public highways of said Union Township, hat a United States Mail route passes over the same and that said improvement will be of public utility and beneit. Your petitiones ask that said highway above described be drained and graded and that broken stone be placed upon the grade and that upon such 1 broken stone there be placed stone screenings. Your petitioners further ask that said highway above described be improved to the width of Forty (40) feet and that said highway be graded to a width of twenty-four (24) feet and that broken stone be placed thereon to a width of ten feet (10) feet and to a depth of eight (8) inches at the sides thereof and to a dept of ten (10) inches in the center thereof and that crushed I stone screenings be placed thereon to 'a depth of four (4) inches upon broken stone, that said improvement be (made double track and that the name of the same be the “Krueckeberg Macadam Road.”

We further ask that the Board take all the necessary steps required by law to have said improvement constructed without submitting the question of building the same to an election of the voters of said Union Township and that the Board construct the same under the laws of the State of Indiana now in force providing for the extension of free gravel or macadam roads by township taxation. Your petitioners further show that he highway thus sought to be improved is a public highway already esablished and in use and is one of the public hihways on the boundary line of said township.
