PETITION FOR A MACADAM ROAD State of Indiana, County of Adana*. Before the Board of Conitnisstoners of the County of Adam*. We the undersigned oath and till of whom tire residents freeholders and voters of Union Township and Hoot Township in Adams County. Inditnri. respectfully petition your honorable body that you construct and complete a free macadnmlz|<l stone road on and over the public highway dividing Union and Root townships afore, aid situated pn the following route to-wit: Commencing at the South East corner of section Twenty-five (25). Township Twenty-eight (28), North Range Fourteen (14), East running thence North over the public highway lor a distance of two (2) miles on the Eastern boundry of Sections Twenty-four (24) and Twenty-five (25) Township and Range aforesaid and on the Western boundery of Sections Ninr-tr-on (1!)) and Tnirty (30) in Township twenty-eight (28) North Range fifteen (15) East arid terminating at the North East corner of Section Twenty-four (24) Township Twenty-eight (28) North Range Fourteen (14) East ail in Adams County, Indiana. Your petitioners show that the improvement prayed for herein is less thun three miles in length is on the boundary line between Union Township and Root Township and conects [ at both ends with a free macadam road nnd that a United Slate Rural Mail ’ Route passes over a part of said high- j way. Your petitioners further show , that more than ten of the petitioners | herein are from each of the townships , agected and to be effected by this improvement. Your petitioners further show that i the highway thus sought to be ira ! proved is a . public highway already | established and in use and is one of; the public highways on the boundary [ line of said Townships. Your petitioners ask your honorable j body that said highway heretofore des , crilied be drained, and graded and that . broken stone be placed upon the grade i and that upon such broken stone there; be placed stone screenings. Your petitioners further ask that said highway above described be graded to a width of 24 feet, and that. broken stone be placed therein to o[ •width of 10 feet and to a depth of 8 [ inches at the sides thereof, and to a depth of 10 inches in the center thereof, and that crushed stone screenings be placed thereon to a depth of 4 inches upon such broken stone, that said improvement be made a double track and that the name of the same, be The Drummond Macadam Road. That to pay for said improvement . we ask that bond be issued by the, County of Adams, in the State of Ind-] iana payable in Twenty semi-amjmii I installments or series and for the payment of which we ask that a tax be. levied upon the taxable prop rty < f| said Union Township and Root Township aforesaid in a sufficient amount , to pay the interest and principal of [ said bonds as they become due.
