(CONTINUED FROM PAGE ONE) that no important developments had taken place today. The Liege forts were still holding out and the Germans were still in Liege city. An un confirmed report was circulated that General Von Emmich the German com mander, had been killed. The report was brought in by -wounded German soldiers. The splendid Dutch Red Cross were unable to assist the Ger mans because z the commander will not allow them to enter the German lines and will not allow the wounded to enter Holland. New York, Aug. 14, —(Special to the Daily Democrat) —Critics here today declared that the German defats artbecoming “a little too monotonous to be real” and said that It would be well to remember that Germany is still is dated from the world and that the reports may J>e handed out highly colored. • . Berlin, Aug. 14, —(Special to Dailv Democrat) —(Delayed and doubly cen sored) The German advance is pro feeding as planned. Whatever losses may have been sustsmed had been anticipated. Mr. Hackman retired early in the evening feeling quite well and slept peacefully until about 12:15 when he awakened with a severe pain in his chest which seemed to shut off his breathing. He immediately called to his wife who was sitting up with their sick niece. Miss Bertha Hackman who is seriously ill with typhoid fever and not expected to live and she relieved his suffering somewhat by applying liniment on his chest. The relief was. enly for a few minutes and the terrible pains came back much more severe than the first attack. Mr. Hackman then stepped outside in the effort to get some fresh air coming back into the house a few seconds later suffering more than before and lay on the bed. He took a few deep breaths, groaned and moaned a few minutes and passed into the next world before any assistance could be given him. We are a nation of meat eaters and our blood is filled with uric acid, says a well-known authority, who warns us to be constantly on guard against kidney trouble. The kidneys do their utmost to free the blood of this irritating acid, but become weak from the overwork; they get sluggish; the eliminative tissues clog and thus the waste is retained in the blood to poison the entire system. When your kidneys ache and feel like lumps of lead, and you have stinging pains in the back or the urine is cloudy, full of sediment, or the bladder is irritable, obliging you to seek relief during the night; when you have severe headaches, nervous and dizzy spells, sleeplessness, acid stomach or rheumatism in bad weather, get from your pharmacist about four ounces of Jad Salts; take a tablespoonful in a glass of water before breakfast each morning and in a few days your kidneys will act fine. This famous salts is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lithia, and has been used for generations to flush and stimulate clogged kidneys, to neutralize the acids in urine so it is no longer a source of irritation, thus ending urinary and bladder disorders. Jad Salts is inexpensive and cannot injure; makes a delightful effervescent lithia-water drink, and nobody can make a mistake by taking a little occasionally to keep the kidneys clean and active.
