[ON INSPECTION Special G, R. & I. Train Passes Through Decatur With Officials i TO GRAND RAPIDS Spent Night There—Year ■ Has Been a Profitable One for the Company A special train on the G. R. & I. left Richmond yesterday morning and passed through Decatur enroute to Grand Rapids. Mich. The train was filled witli officials of the road on an inspection trip. Among the officials was Vice-president J. J. Turner of Pitts- ( burg. Th»y spent last night in Grand Rapids and continued their trip this morning. ' What will be the outcome of the inspection is net known. Many motives have been suggested for the trip, some claiming that sev ral very important changes are contemplated for . the improvement of the road while others think that it is only a custom ary inspection trip over the lines. The past season has been a profitable one for the road and the northern travel started early and has been exceptionally heavy. The continued hot weather has made this class of travel very heavy and within the next ten days or two weeks the travel : southward will begin. By the first of 1 September the heaviest of the travel ( is over as families with children wish to get home before the opening of the city schools. —c —.
