NOTICE OF PUBLIC LETTING. In the matter of the petition of J. W. McKean'et al drain. Notice is hereby given that the undersigned superintendent of construction of the J. W. McKean et al drain in St. Marys, Monroe and Washington townships, Adams county, Indiana will on Tuesday August 11, 1914, at 10 o'clock a. m., at the office of Phil L. Macklin, County Surveyor of Adams County, Indiana, in the Morrison block, south of the Court House in the City of Decatur, Adams County, Indiana, receive sealed bids for the construction of said drain, in accordance with the report, plans and specifications therefor, now on file in the Auditor’s Office in the City of Decatur, Adams County, Indiana, in said cause. Bids will be received and a contract let as follows: ' From Station 0 to Station 645 both inclusive. This is all open work for teams or
dry dredge. Bidders will be required to file their bids as required by law upon forms furnislfid by the undersigned superintendent of construction and each bid must be accompanied with a certified check of Three Hundred Dollars on some Bank payable to Phil L. Macklin, Superintendent of Construction, as a guarantee that the successful bidder will sign a contract and ex ecute a bond with surety to the approval of the undersigned in a sum equal to double the amount of the contract price or bid conditioned for the faithful performance of the contract. The Superintendent, of Construction reserves the right to reject any and all bids. No bids will be accepted in excess of the estimated cost of such work, or in excess of the benefits found. If the said successful bidder, fails to sign said contract and execute such bond within a reasonable length of time after the acceptance of such bid, said check shall be forfeited to said Superintendent of construction as liquidated damages; otherwise the same will be returned to said bidder. The time for the completion of such work will be made known by the Superintendent of Construction on day of sale, and successful bidder will be required to complete the work, within the time fixed in the contract.
