OLD STOCKHOLDERS Failed to Organize for Pur-chase-May Ask Operation to Cease. The third sale day for the Fort Wayne & Springfield railway is nearly pant, aud up until time of going to press no bids have been received by the receiver, French Quinn. None were in sight, and ft is <iulte likely, that the hour limit, which is sot r o’clock, will pass without his receiving a single bid. Tlie proposed re-organisation of the old stockholders for purchasing the road, which movement was headed by John H. Koenig and others, who were particularly anxious that the old tale date be ex.ended io to-day, when they Imped to have effected means for pur chasing, failed to agree and as a result, tlieir attorneys stated to-day there would be no bidding from tiiat source. No Fort Wayne capitalists appeared to put in a hid. An attorney very close to the stockholders, stated tills afternoon, that for the past several days, the stockholders have been talking of presenting a petition to court to ask opera lon of the road ci »*<- They declare that It would be to the Interest of the stockholders (o cease operation entirely, as every day -j rperation but piles up the indchted i,ess. W'liat action will be taken in this remains unknown at this time. Judge O'Kourke of Ft. Wayne, special judge in the receivership case is here today, and probably the only mat ter presented to him will Is- Receiver Quinn's report of 'no sale" and the matter will probably be continued un til the September term of court as tar as the sale is concerned.
