The Misses Rose and Bess Tonneller spent the day in Fort Wayne. Mrs. James P. Haefling has been quite ill for several days of the grip. Mr. and Mrs. John Hessler of Fort Wayne are here visiting with relatives. Henry Selking of Root township was a business visitor in the city today. Mrs. William Sheler and sister, Mrs, Girod went to Fort Wayne this morning to spend the day. Miss Huldah Mutchler has gone to Bellefontaine, Ohio, for a several days’ visit with friends. Theodore Graliker and Miss Celeste Wemhoff will see Ben Hur at Fort Wayne this evening. Dr. D. D. Clark and Harry Ward motored to Portland this morning to attend to several business matters. Miss Ruby Miller returned today to her school work after an absence of more than a week on account of illness. She has recovered but suffered a relapse and was obliged to take a longer vacation. Mrs. Charles Griebel and daughter, Bessie, passed through the city today noon enroute to their home at Fort Wayne. They were with Mrs. Griebei's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Titus, who were both very ill but who are now better. The majority of the visiting ministers who were attending the spring meeting of the Fort Wayne Presbytery returned to their hon|-s last evening although a few were forced to remain over until this morning in order to make train connections. J. W. Manges Is in the city organizing a chapter of the Loyal Order of Moose. Mr. Manges Is meeting with good success and will undoubtedly land a large chpter. The Moose, while practically a organization has many chapters in Indiana and the membership is surprisingly great. A telephone message received this morning by Deputy Clerk Baumgartner from County Clerk Ferdinand Bleeke in Fort Wayne staled that his wife who Is a patient at the Lutheran hospital is getting along exceedingly well which is indeed good news to her friends here. She was operated upon Monday for appendicitis, and the operation revealed also, complications of gall stones and adhensions. Ferd Litterer made a business trip to Fort Wayne this morning. Funeral services for Opal Rex were held this afternoon at 2:80 o’clock at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Rex in the north part of the city. The Adams county W. C. T. U. Institute will be held at Geneva this even Ing, with a medal contest by the Berne L. T. I. class. The institute will also be held Friday morning, afternoon and evening. The sessions will be held at the Geneva U. B. church. The members of the Shamrock base ball team are requested to meet tonight at the Ed Coffee shoe repair shop. Business of importance will take place and every member is urged to be there. The team will go to Huntington Sunday where they will play the Huntington Specials. Mrs. Minnie Lew-ton and children of 10th st., leave the first of the week for Fort Wayne where they will make their home having purchased property on Pontiac street that city. Their residence here on Tenth street will be leased. Her son, Lawrence, is employed In the Pennsylvania offices and another sou, Wilson, is a student in the Ft. Wayne Busine « college.
