Mrs. Louis Fuelling returned to St. Johns at noon today. John Hessler of Fort Wayne was a business visitor In the city today. Mrs. H. F. Rein king went to Fort Mayne to visit with her daughters. Mrs. George Shumers and son, Harry. spent today at Monmouth with her mother. Mrs. C. C. Wilder. Miss Myrtle Simmers has returned to Monroeville after a visit here with her brother, George Simmers, and family. Robert I’eterson a student of the Indiana University at Bloomington, returned home to attend the funeral of Miss Reba Quinn. Mr. Roudebush of North Second Street, an old soldier, is seriously ill with kidney trouble and compliI cations. His brother-in-law living in Oklahoma has been summoned. Mrs. Nancy Barrone. widow of Henry Barrone. She was sixty-eight years four months and eighteen days of age. and was born in Ohio, though she spent much of her life at Monroeville. Her husband ditxl four years ago. Several foster children survive. The eclipse of eleven-twelfths of the muon last evening was witnessed by many in this city. The sky was cloudless, thus making an exceptionally clear vision and giving the people a moat beautiful sight. Miss Rice is a forner classmate of Miss Quinn in the Decatur high school. o GUNMAN IS ARRESTED. (United Press Service) Indianapolis. Ind.. Mar. 12 —(Spec's! to Daily Democrat)—David "Bat" Masterson, left-handed slugman and gunman of Terre Haute, was arrested here this afternoon on an emergency warrant. He is being held on an Indictment by the Vigo county grand jury which charges him with complicity in an alleged plot to dynamite the homes of Judge C. M. Fortune. Special Judge Blankenhaker and others, ill prominent in the prosecution of Mayor Roberts for alleged election 'rauds. Sheriff Tortceus said that ■.-hen Masterson saw him. the prisoner laughed and said, "I've been trying o keep Roberts out of prison, and I guess I'll go myself." The sheriff said that "Bat" was joking at the time. WILL DELIVER ADDRESS. (United Press Service) Indianapolis. Ind.. Mar. 12 —(Specal to Daily Democrat) —William A. Pendergast of New York, one of the founders of the progressive party and the man who placed Theodore Roosevelt in nomination at the progressive convention held at Chicago in 1912, will deliver the principal address at the republican state convention April 22.
