THE COURT NEWS Attorney Weber Represents Government in Naturalization Hearing IN COURT HERE Mrs. Hancock Given Divorce —Ramsey Divorce Case Was Dismissed. Today was the semi annual naturalisation day when applications for final naturalization were heard in the circuit court before Judge D. E. Smith. Attorney Weber, one of the United States' naturalization attorneys, was here In the interest of the government. Eighteen applications came up. Each required two witnesses, hence the presence of fifty-four person 1, ic'-lad Ing principals and v.ltu?sse . wa r* qulred. The court room wa < a busy , place. Several were refused natural! | zation at thia time, on account of irregularity in the matter of witnesses. When they were called to testify several were found who are not citizens of the United States, hence could not serve as witnesses for another. It will be necessary to give notice again and have new witnesses for the next hearing, which will be in September. The hearing closed early this afternoon. Eleven were admitted to citizenship. They are: David Mettler. Andrew Rinehart. Frederick Hanni. Charles Nyffeler. John Gerard, Christian Helmrick. Christian C. Burri. Nicholas Jenney. Thomas Melrose Reid. Otto Fran.. Emil Pleuss. Three, whose one or both witnesses were absent, will return Saturday morning with the witnesses to complete the hearing. They are Pau! Withaus, Al ’gander Hoyer. Christian Bronchy.
