Steele, tlie racket store man, made a business trip to Fort Wayne. Mrs. O. R. McMakeu returned to Ft. Wayne today noon after a visit here with her mother, Mrs. Herbert Pennington. Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Myers have moved from Hoagland to Convoy, Ohio, where Mr. Myers will continue ids practice as a veterinary. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Zimmerman returned to Codarvtlle this morning after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Elijah Walters. Mrs. Walters, who lias been quite ill, is able to be up again and Mr. Walters has not been quite so well the past several days. John Miller and wife, who iiave resided on the Maria Robinson farm near Monmouth, have gone to Pekin, 111., where they will make their home with hts sister, who is ill. The sister has a rooming house there and quite well-to-do and lias made a will in fafor of Mr. Miller, whom she asked to come and live with fier. Until a few weeks ago, he had not seeu her, nor did he know of her location, for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Todd have moved to the Maria Robinson farm. - - ■■ o —• ■ - ' i— G. R. A I. PRESIDENT RESIGNS. Pittsburg, Pa., Jan. 21—At the annual meeting of the officials of the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railway company, held here yesterday in the Pennsylvania station, the resignation of Joseph Wood, president of the company. was accepted. His successor lias not been chosen. The resignation wil ltake effect February 1. when Mr. Wood will retire also as first vice president of the Pennsylvania lines west of Pittsburg. Among th eofticials present at tlie meeting were Vice President John Hugart. W. R. Shelby, retired treasurer, but still a member of the Itoard, and Financial Vice President Edward Taylor, all of Grand Rapids. Following the action on Mr. Wood's resignation and the transactio not routine business, the meeting adjourned at noon.
