PETITION FQP MACADAM ROaD State of Indiana, Adams County, ss: Before the Board of Commissioners of the County of Adams February Term. 1914: We the undersigned, each and all of whom, are resident voters and free ' holders of Root Township in Adams County. Indiana most respectfuly petition your honorable body, that you construct and complete a free Macadamised stone road, tn said Township, over and upon the public highway situated on tlie following route, to-wit: Commencing, at the south west l corner of section six (6) in township twenty-eight (28) north range fourteen (14) East, in Adams County, Indiana thence running in a south easterly direction across section seven (7) township and range aforesaid, to a point where said highway intersects with the public highway, running east and west, on the southern boundery of section eight (8) In township and range aforesaid, which is about forty (48) rods east, of the south west cor- • tier of said section eight (8) afore11 said.. Your petitioners aver and say. that ; the improvement prayed for herein. II Is less than three miles in length, and I connects at the commencement with a free Macadam Road and at the end i connects with a free Gravel Road in said township; that a United States Rural Mail Route passes over said highway and the same will be of public utility and benefit. Your petitioners, further aver and say. that the highway herein sought ' to be improved, is a public highway established and in use and is one of the public highways, of Root Township. Your petitioners ask, that said highway above described, be drained and graded, and that broken stone be placed upon the grade, and that upon such broken stone there be placed stone screenings, and that this iniorovement be made of crushed stone I and screenings. Your petitioners further ask. that ' said highway above described be Imi proved to a width of 35 feet and that ' said highway be graded to a width of 24 feet, and that broken stone crushed run be placed thereon, to a width c f 14 feet and to a depth of 5 inches at the sides thereof, and to a depth cf I 9 inches in the center thereof, and that crushed stone screenings, be placed thereon, to a debth of 4 inches upon such crushed stone, and that this improvement be made a single I track, and that the name of the same Ibe “The Henry Heckman Macadam I Road." That to pay for said Improvement we ask that bonds be issued by the County of Adams, in the State of Indi- , ana payable in twenty semi-annual installments or series and for Hie payment of which we ask. that a tax be levied upon the taxable property of said Root Township. Indiana, ' thence fo/>wlng the public highway in a .southeasterly direction, crossing the southwest quarter of said section sixteen (161 thence in a southeasterly direction, crossing section twenty-one 121 land the north half of section twenty-seven (271. all in township and range aforesaid, to a point alxmt 80 rods west of point in the center of said section twenty-seven (27). thence in a southerly direction, crossing the south part of said section twenty-seven (271 and through the west half of section thirty four (84) and (erminating at the southeast cor nrer of the northwest quarter of said section thirty four (341 at the intersection of the Julius Haugk macadam road all in township twenty-eight (28) north, range fourteen (14) east. Your petitioners aver ard say that the proposed improvement is less than three miles in length, connects at both ends with a free macadam road in said township and that a Unit ed States Rural mail route passed over the highway herein sought to be ini proved. ' Your petitioners further aver and say that the highway herein sought to be improved is a public highway, si ready established and in use and Is one of the public- highways of said Root township, and that the same will be of public Utility and benefit.
