Thia Is the second requoet for money which Mr. Steffen has received from , Indianapolis and ho Is convinced that I he is being made the object of lhe operations of a gang of t unfldetice mon and he is fearful lest his son Is held a ’ prisoner by them and may come to some harm. A letter was received by Mr. Steffen several weeks ago, purporting to come from Jonathan In which It waa Indicated that he was very repentant and ( hastened in his spirit by divers misfortune* which had liefullen him. Mr. Steffen and hi* wife went to Indianapolis, but as Jonathan had given no address they were unable to locate him. The police were occupied with the big teamsters' strike and could give little assistance in tlndlng him. After Mr. and Mrs Steffen came home they received a letter from some "Jean Galloway.’’ who represente-l himself as the head of a rescue mission.
