The United Brethren Ladies' Aid society had a splendid meeting yesteiday with Mrs. Frank Martz, of West Monroe street. The chief business matter was the election of officers, many of the old staff being re-elected. The officers are: President, Mrs. Tom Fisher; vice president. Mrs. A LBall; secretary, Mrs. John Kiraeofe; treasurer. Mrs. Frank Martz. Reports lor the year were read, as this will bo the last meeting of the conference year which is drawing to a close- The annual conference will be held in September in Waterloo. Mrs. Mary Eloy will leave in a few days for Findlay, Ohio, to attend the 1 annual reunion of the Shoemaker-Rob-erts families at Riverside park, A’.'-! gust 23. Mrs Eley will have a part ett ’ the program, in the giving of the gen-' ealogy of the Roberts family. The | reunions are held each year either at' Findlay or at Walbridge park. Toledo, and are eagerly anticipated. The first reunion was held on the birthday ot Mrs. Eley's aunt, who was a Ro' erts, and as her husband was a Shoemaker, both branches of the fam fly are included in the reunion. The Misses Lola and Dorothy Dunn of Bluffton are here for a week's vi-.it ■with Mrs. Mabel Hanly at the Dr Elizabeth Burns home. The Tri Kappas had their installa tion of officers Thursday afternoon at tile home of Miss Helen Niblick. Mrs. Jesse Helm the retiring president, installed the following: President, Fanny Frisinger; vice president. Madge Hit' ; recording secretary, Frances Dugan; corresponding secretary. Jean Butler; treasurer, Frances Colo. Miss Fredericks! Hubbard was pledged as a new member. Guests v ere ','rs. Dick Wallace and Mr-. 1 ir ton Niblick. Mr. and Mr- Alex White of Ossian are guests of Attorney and Mrs J, (' Sutton and family. Demands for better wages and working conditions were presented to all roads entering the city and were said to have been coldly receivid by the officials witli the exception ol one ease, that of tlie Indianapolis, Columbus At Southern road. The committee which carried the demand to tlie roads was dismissed by tlie officials it was stated nt tlie union headquarters this afternoon.
