Portland fair, September 1 to 5. Mrs- Eli Ray of Monroe was a business visitor in the city today. Mrs. Godfrey Kurt went to Monlouth lor a frit with relatives. Miss Leila Miller of Greenville, O„ is the guest of the Ben Devor family. Henry Presdorf of Monroe was In the city yesterday looking after business. Mrs. E. S. Moses went to Winona hake this morning to join Miss Mary Moses in a week’s stay there. Miss Ceci! Jay of Louisville, Ky., who has been visiting with Eva and William Gault, left today noon for Grover Hill, Ohio, to visit. Mrs. E M. Liddy and daughter, Lillian. and Mrs. J. Gentis left this morning lor Fort Wayne, where they will spend two weeks visiting with friends and relatives. J. 11. Gentis made a business trip to Genet a this morning. Mr. Gentis will assist the A. G. Briggs Bros, for a few days in their hardware store. L. L. Gallop of Mnkeagan, Mich., who has been visiting in the city with his sister, Mrs Charles Hooper, left this morning for his home.

I’. Hoffman. Dan Beery is greatly improving from an attack of neuralgia which he suffered last week, and which for a time made his recovery doubtful. Drs. D. I). Clark and E -L McOscar of Fort Wayne were at Craigville today, being called there for consultation in a serious case of sickness. Mathias Kirsch went to Fort Wane this morning where he will atend the meeting of the board of directors of the German Reformed Orphans’ home. Mrs. Jesse Brenneman and C. L. lohnson went to Fort Wayne today io call on their mother and mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Spade, at the Hope hospital.
