Fred King of this office was away from liis duties today because of an attack of biliousness. Mrs- J. M. Stockard of Williams is recovering from a severe attack of neuralgia and appendicitis. Miss Hazel France has returned to her home at Columbia City after a several days’ visit with relatives and friends here. James Carpenter, recently appainted bridge inspector of the G. R. k I railroad, was in the city this morning attending toi business. Mr. Carpente;' has many friends here, where he formerly lived, and be glad to hear of his continued success.
The carnival company is located on ' the lot just east of the Monroe street river bridge. They have several shows, but don’t seem to be making much noise. D. M. Hensley and his guests, Dr. and Mrs. J. M. Hensley, and daughter of Bellaire, Ohio, arrived today from Rome City, where they visited at the Hensley cottage. Dr. Hensley and family then left for Cincinnati, Ohio, to attend a convention. L. C. Waring will leave next week for his island on Little Manistique lake in tile northern peninsula of Michigan. He will be accompanied by Judge O'Rourke of Fort Wayne.! These two gentlemen have been en-i joying the summers at this lake for ' a number of years.
