The report of the conditions of crops in Indiana is most encouraging to everybody, at least sufficiently so that the automobile dealers are con-, fident of a prosperous business and are so governing themselves. Jim Watson says that Col. Mulliull is a "diabolical liar” when he says he was a booze drinking lobyist. C„ July 3.—(Special to Daily Itemocrat) —With over 20,000 letters, telegrams, and reports of the National Association of Merchants in its hands, to further the evidence in the Mulhull charges, the senate lobby committee today learned of the attempt of the N. A. M. in 1009 to have James Watson of Indiana apttointed Secretary of Commerce and Labor by President Tait. In letters from D. M. Perry, then president of the N. A. M. he stated that he had been doing everything in his power to get Watson appointed. o ARMY IN RETREAT. (United Press Service.) Cincinnati, Ohio, July 3—(Special to Daily Democrat)—Under the municipal supervision of the city the nine big private Ice manufacturing plants seized yesterday by Mayor Hunt, are running full force today. The city took these steps on the advice and request of the physicians of the city to relieve the suffering 'and Ice famine. Pa., July 3.—(Special to Daily Democrat)—President Wilson will be enthusiastically welcomed by the veterans of the two armies and which are now encamped on the bat tletieid of Gettysburg, when he arrives tomorrow. Because of the fact that Wilson is the first southern president, the former confederates are working to make the welcome a i rousing one. Vice-President Marshall arrived today. It is much cooler on the battlefield than during the past week and the camps are comfortable. — —o — SLEPT IN LIMA, OHIO. Wednesday Night—Latest Word From Edward P. Weston. The latest bulletin received at the Erie railroad today concerning Edward Payson Weston who is walking from New Work City, to Minneapolis was that he spent last Bight at Lima, Ohio., leaving there early this mornbig.
