Mrs. John Stevens, wife of Superintendent Stevens of the Van Weit county InfirmatV. submitted to the doctor's knife Thursday afternoon for the removal of a fibroid tumor. The operation took place at the county infirmary and was performed by Dr. D. D. Clark of this city and Dr. McOscar of Fort Wayne. Her condition kept on growing worse until she finally submitted to be operated upon in order to regain better health and to relieve her of th e pain which she had been suffering. Word from Mrs. Stevens this morning was to the effect that she was resting as well as could be expected from the seriousness of the ordeal and the doctors say she will recover all right. o FRECKLES
