A fine nine and a half pound baby boy has come to gladden the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Miller living near the state line. Mrs. A. C. Berger returned to Fort Wayne yesterday afternoon after a visit since Saturday with her father, F. H. Hackman.

John Lachot made a business trip to Berne this morning and from there he will go to Linn Grove. Milt Leavell is serving as carrier in the of Harve IRice, who is off duty on account of the death of his wife. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Niblick and daughters, Charlotte and Margaret, went to Fort Wayne this morning to spend the day. Miss Pearl Baumgartner will go to Geneva this evening to attend the high school commencement exercises there. —Bluffton News. Huber of Brookston, Indiana, will be here to preach Sunday at the Christian church. His subject for the morning hour is “Working With God,” and for the evening, “The Eleventh Hour.” There were quite a number of callers at this office yesterday and last evening, who came after one of the new motor vehicle registration law pam- | phlete. We still have a few copies on hand. 1 ‘Ralph Amrine, who has just recover’ed from the mumps, is laid up again with a rash. A local physician says lie has had several cases of this kind this year, where a rash followed the mumps.
A large crowd of foreign as well as local horse men attended the sale held by the Decatur Horse Sale company today at the barns on First street. Over 250 head of the finest stock was offered and fancy prices were paid for them. Mrs. Chauncy Furman of Marion, Ohio, will accompany Mrs. E. J. Bailey to Westfield, N. Y., next week for a visit with Mrs. Bailey's sister, Mrs. Jennie Clever. Mrs. Clever was a former Decatur lady and the visit will be a very pleasant one. Mrs. A. Knite of Holland, Mich., who has been visiting in the city with her sister, Mrs. William Kremers, left this morning for her home. She w-as accompanied by her little niece. Miss Margaret Kremers, who will visit with her for sometime. Dr. J. S. Coverdale has received word from Nashville, Tenn., of the recovery of his granddaughter, Ruth May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Coverdale. She is gettting along nicely from a recent siege of measles and pneumonia. Dr. Coverdale came home a week ago from her bedside, to which he was called. The Rebekahs are now selling tickets for their home talent play to be given at the Bosse opera house May 2, under the direction of Miss Osee Armstrong. The proceeds will be used for the purchasing of new robes for the lodge. The subject of the play is “A Little Savage,’’ and is said to have a clever little plot. Mrs. Clinton Grim has received word from her daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Wible, that they have purchased a new home just two squares from her husband's old home. The house is a seven roomed house, with all modern conveniences and they expect to move there soon. Mrs. Wible was formerly Miss Beatrice Coffelt, of this city. The Bond Sextette, composed of Misses Lucile Lock, Justine Cook, Glenn Shelly, Helen Swaim, Hermlna Ashbaucher and Hermine Wlecking, w’ere in Decatur Wednesday night to furnish part of the program at nn open meeting of the Shakespearean Reading Circle, held at the Pythian Home. Mesdames Del Locke, Ernst Wiecking, L. H. Cook and Ellen Dailey also motored to Decatur and attended the meeting.—Bluffton News.
