E. D. to Berne this afternoon on business. Lawrence Biggs and John Ray beban work today in the Artman & Hess case. Mrs. Horace Callow, who has been very ill for several days, is reported as being no better. Ex-Deputy County Clerk Dan Roop of Blue Creek township was a business visitor in the city today. Francis, nine-months-old babe of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Mougey, is very sick with a severe cold on the lungs and fever. Mrs. John Barnett, who was brought home Sunday evening from the hospital at. Fort Wayne, where she had an operation, is doing very nicely. Mrs. L. C. Annen, who went to Fort Wayne with her sister, Mrs. William Doehriuan, will be accompanied home by her nieces, the Misses Mildred and VeVona Doehrman. Dr. R. L. Davis, who has just opeuen an office in this city, with Dr. Seman, as osteopaths, went to Portland this afternoon on business and will remain until Saturday. Miss Lettie Kintz will return Monday to her studies at the International Business college, Fort Wayne. She has been forced to take a month’s vacation on account of a nervous breakdown. Norbert Houthouse, Elmo Smith, Qmer Niblick and Raymond Keller left this mqrning by way of Marlon for Collegeville, to resume their studies at St. Joseph college, after spending a two weeks' Easter vacation with their parents and other relatives. They were forced to remain a week longer than the required time allowed on account of the floods, which washed out nearly all the tracks of the Monon, the only railroad running into the city «f Rensselaer. — o RE-ENFORCING RESERVOIR BANK. z Danger to the St. Marys reservoir is not yet past it seems. A dispatch from St. Marys says: The cast bank of the grand reservoir Monday endured a severe 24-hour pounding from the gale. Troops of Company K and state employees at times had difficulty in maintaining their positions on the exposed places. Additional sand by the carload was sent to the bank Monday and placed In sacks for possible emergencies. Sand and brush is proving effective in closing the "washes." The water stage is fast getting down to normal. Military and civil patrol will be maintained indefinitely, however. —■ - -—o - - NOTICE TO BIDDERS. Notice is also given that at the same time and place sealed bids will also be received for furnishing all labor and material for a low-pressure Direct-Indirect heating and ventilating apparatus to be installed in the above mentioned building. The right is reserved to reject any and all blds and the right is reserved to accept bids for the whole of said work, or in parts as above set out.
