Richard Deininger, Elmo and Dick Ehinger were Easter guests of Mr. and Mrs. Will Berllng at BlufTton. Wesley Hoffman started on his weekly business trip this morning for the Schafer Saddlery company, going j through Ohio. I C. F. Hayslip left this morning on a business visit to Dainesville, Ohio, in the interest of the Smith & Bell Lumber company. Miss May Deininger made a trip to Fort Wayne this morning. Help the poor of the city by going to the Elk’s charity ball, J. H. Johnson left this morning on his weekly business trip, going to Ridgevllle, Ohio. J. F. left on his weekly business trip this morning in the Interest of the Brooks Oil company. Father Frleberger went to Sheldon this morning to make a little visit for the day with his parents. Mr, and Mrs. J, W. Davis and son, Robert, returned to Fort Wayne after a visit at the J. W. F. Davis home. Mrs. Dr, C. V, Connell went to Fort Wayne this morning to visit with Mrs. Fred Martin at the Lutheran hospital. J. H. Gentis left this morning for Van Wert, Ohio, where he will assist in the M. W. Gary & Son’s hardware store. Leon Rademacker and Leon Crawford returned to their school work at Fort Wayne after spending Sunday here. i y A fine baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fleming. Mr. Fleming is the principal of the South Ward school. Miss Jennie Nogdel of Beaver Falls, Pa. t Is here for a several days’ visit with the Levi Barkley, A1 ‘steele and Phipps families. Mrs. Veronica Smith and daughter, Maggie, spent Easter in Fort Wayne with their son and brother, Floyd Smith, and family. Otto Wemhoff returned to his work at Fort Wayne this morning after spending Easter Sunday with his mother and other relatives. Dr. E. G. Coverdale has returned from the hospital at Fort Wayno. where he underwent a most successful operation for the removal of the appendix. Mrs. Dell Locke, Mrs. L. H. Cook, and Mrs. W. A. Kunkel attended a five hundred party at the home of Mrs. C. A. Dugan in Decatur Saturday.— Bluffton Banner. Mrs Anthony Schurger and children left this morning for White Cloud, Micli., where they will make their future home. Mr. Schurger left some time ago and has everything in readiness for housekeeping. Mr. and Mrs. Cal Peterson, Miss Madge Hite and Mr. Dick Blossom of Fort Wayne were entertained at a fi o’clock dinner Sunday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Ansel Bremerkamp. A very fine time was enjoyed. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Smith write of a pleasant visit at Los Angeles. They expect to remain there until March 25, when they will go to San Francisco, Cal., from which city they will sail for the Hawaiian Islands. Fred and Ode Fullenkamp, managers of the Fullenkamp store, who were in Fort Wayne eu business relating to the buying -f suits, were accompanied home by their little niece, Margaret Reed, who will make a week's visit here. Arthur Lindsey Stevenson, saloonkeeper of West Duluth, did not suit the fancy of his young wife, Anna Harriet Stevenson, when he papered _the walls or their-living room with picture post cards and love notes received from former sweethearts, and other women unknown to her. She called it cruelty when she told her story to Justice Debell in the divorce court. The court granted her a divorce with alimony. The law firm of Snyder & Smith, composed of F’rank H. Snyder and Whitney E. Smith, will cease practice in this city and county after Saturday, March 29th, when they will close their office, preparatory to moving to Los Angeles, Cal., where they will engage in the general practice of law. On Saturday evening of -next week they will be given a farewell banquet at the Hotel Adair by members of the Jay county Bar association. —Portland Sun. ' ■ ' - —o- ) ABOUT THE SICK. Mr. ahd Mrs. Will Parent, Mrs. David Coffee went to Fort Wayne on the 11:30 car where Mrs. Parent will enter the St. Joseph hospital for an operation Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. This will be for relief from gall stones and appendicitis, and will be performed by l|r. McOscar and Dr. J. M. Miller. David Liby of Prebie is In a critical condition, the result of a stroke of paralysis that came upon him Sunday morning at 4 o'clock. He is practically helpless. The right side seems to be the more serious, and he is unable to use his right arm at all. His speech Is also affected, and It is with difficulty that he can be understood He has had touches of the paralysis twice before this winter. He will be seventy-three Tears old April 15, and his advanced age is against him. His son-in-low, Homer Krick, who was at his bedside, returned to his home in Fort Wayne this morning.
