John Jones made a business trip to Fort Wayne this morning. George Mock returned to Bluffton' this morning after a business visit here. Miss Margaret Gailogly was off duty at the Bernstein store today on account of sickness. Mrs. John McGough went to Fort Wayne this morning to attend the funeral of her grandmother, Mrs. Menche. The $9,000 worth of school bonds, for the Blue Creek township school improvements, were run off the press at this office and placed in the hands of the attorney, D. B. Erwin. The bonds were purchased by Breed, Harrison & Company of Indianapolis.

Levi Sprunger of Berne was a business visitor here yesterday. P. W. Smith of Richmond was in the city yesterday on business. William, little son of Mr. and Mrs. U. Drummond, has the mumps. Mrs. C. N. Christen and daughters went to Fort Wayne this morning to spend the day. i Tom Ehinger left this morning on a business trip through Ohio, going in jthe interest of the Indiana Board & Filler company. | Dr. H. Mr. Rupp who resigned as bank cashier there, will move in August to West Unity, Ohio, where he has purchased an interest ( in a grain elevator. The Morris company is planning to remodel their five and ten cent store at Newcastle, with the installation of a new front, new shelving, etc. They have extended their lease on the room they occupy at that place, for another I period of eight years.—Bluffton News.

John Spuller was a business visitor in Fort Wayne yesterday. Miss Cecil Eady, daughter of Mrs. Rebecca Eady is very ill, Thomas Leonard was a business visitor in Fort Wayne yesterday. Mrs. Ed Stevens of Fort Wayne visited here today with friends and relatives. Mesdamee R. L. Starkweather and Roy Archbold went to Fort Wayne for the afternoon. City Mail Carrier O. P. Mills was off duty this afternoon. Avon Burk served in his place. Mrs. Ed Lyon, who has been sick the past ten days with the mumps, is able to be up again. Mrs. Ida Woodruff Miller of 625 East Lewis street. Fort Wayne, was a business caller in the city today. Fred LaDelle and family arrived Tuesday afternoon from Chicago, and their lowa tour for a vacation visit here. Mr. and Mrs. John Niblick have returned from a several days’ visit in Indianapolis. They also combined business with pleasure. L. G. Kauffman made a business trip to Geneva this morning in the interest of the Schafer Saddlery company. Fish Mangold made a business trip to Berne this morning, Norbert Holthouse arrived in the City this afternoon to spend his week's Easter vacation with his mother, Mrs. R. J. Holthouse, and other relatives. He will return to his school work next Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Myers, who visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Cougill, North Meridian street, returned to Decatur, Tuesday, for a short visit with relatives. Mr. Myers and wife will continue their trip Tuesday night to their old home in Tulsa, Oklahoma.—Portland Sun. Mrs. Joe Cloud and daughter, Isabel, and her brother, Harry Barnett, went to Fort Wayne this morning to call on their mother, Mrs. John Barnett, at the Lutheran hospital. She shows continued improvement and permission will be asked her attendants to allow her to come home n'ext week. The City Engineer, G. F. Kintz commenced work this morning on setting of the grade stakes along Monroe street, in order to help the contractor, E. Woods in finishing the bricking of said street. The stakes being set from the west end of Monroe street starting at the east line of Mann st., and then running east to the Grand Rapids depot. Tills will help the contractor get the street and sidewalks on an equal level. o— — TWO MARES FOR SALE.
