He has been reported dead and the flurry was big enough to prove his greatness. ■—gg After all, there are worse things than the friend who tells you about your faults. He does it to your face, while your enemy keeps pecking at you behind your back. If things don't go to suit you, blame it on the newspaper. They are paid ten cents a week by each subscriber,; and can stand It. Os course with a lit-, tie encouragement they could boost harder, but they are expected to do > that anyway. tJ| The grouch clogs the wheels of his own machine. Keep on smiling and boosting, if things do look dark. It is still true that's the only way to get out of your job, and your job is whatever work you can do to make the world better and happier and brighter, if you would get joy out of it,. Try it. The Indiana legislature has completed its job of law-making for another two years and the adjournment will occur tonight. We believe that after the work has been summed up, that the general verdict will be that the record is good. At least they have passed several excellent laws. Os course, as is always true, they have passed some that are not good and that should not have been passed, but they have slipped by during the last week, and the governor will probably see that they do not become laws. Among the most detestable laws passed is one which would muzzle the press, providing that no word can be written against a candidate for office or against a proposed measure in the legislature. It would give free reign to the grafters and would make possible a “ring” that could do as they please. DEMOCRAT WANT ADS PAY BIG.
