W. A. Kuebler came home last evening from Fort Wayne, where he attended to important business matters. Miks Florence Sheeter, who has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. J. F. Wolpert, left this mornhig for her home at Tiffin, Ohio. The Daily Democrat acknowledges receipt of a letter of thanks from the Knights of Pythias lodge. M. tßeid of the Waring Glove company arrived home this morning after a six weeks’ trip through the northvest. He will leave next Monday for a journey through the south. Irvin Jtrandyberry of the firm of Teeple, Brandyberry & Peterson, who has been ill with stomach trouble for several days, has returned from Fort Wayne, where he submitted to an examination by specialists.’ It is likely that he wilF~recover rapidly apd he hopes to be able to resume bis place at the store in a few days. Dick Peterson, a Decatur young man, who has been working a few weeks for the Morris company in their store at Elwood, has been transferred from the Elwood store to the Bluffton store, and will come to this city to reside. His wife is now here with her parents, who recently moved here from Decatur. —Bluffton News. Floyd Ketcham of Kalamazoo, Michigan, is the guest of Miss Bess Fisher. A painting on display in the Holthouse Drug Company’s window attracts much attention. It is one painted by Mrs. Adel Neptune, tho subject being little Miss Martha Sellemeyer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sellemeyer. NEWS FROM COURT HOUSE. The will of William Schroeder, probated yesterday, leaves one-third of his real estate to his wife, $1,200 each to his daughters, Sophia Doehr-! mann, Caroline Paul, Mary Halfeldt ’ and Dora Hollman, and $2,000 each to his daughters, Minnie and Louise Schroeder. The remainder of the real estate, consisting of two farms, goes to his son, William Schroeder, | who is made the executor of the will. ’ —Fort Waynp Journal-Gazette. Dawson, a patient at the Huntington hospital, since an operation for appendicitis, is getting along nicely. Harry Jeffrey received word this afternoon from the Lutheran -hbspital at Fort Wayne that his mother, Mis. J. W. Jeffrey, who was operated upon Thursday, suffered intense pain all night, but other conditions are favorable.
