AGAIN HONORED Mrs. Emma Daniel Was Elected Vice President of Conference MISSIONARY SOCIETY Mrs. J. W. Vail Again Made Treasurer—Both Have Held Office Long. I ’ One of tho most important matteis of business attended to by the Woman's Home Missionary association of the North Indiana conference of the Methodist church Thursday afternoon. before the adjournment of the convention this morning at New Castle was the election of officers for the new year. The Decatur society which was largely represented at the convention which has been in session there since Wednesday morning, was again honored with the re-election of two of Its prominent members to office. .Mrs. Emma Daniel, wife of tho former Decatur minister, and active in this as well as all other parts of the church work, was re-elected to the vice presidency of the conference association Mrs. J. W. Vail, who has been treasurer for fifteen or more years, was re-elected. Mrs. .1. F. White of Kokomo, wl*e of the former Decatur minister, was elected to the presidency. Mrs. A. R. Wagner of the Holland-St. Ixmls Sugar company, in charge of all the field work of the company, has been promoted. | The promotion came in the way of a surprise and Mr. Wagner assumed the duties of his new Job at onr-e. The scarcity of labor made it imperative that the place be filled at once and Mr. Wagner was selected as the best man for it. He was given a job unloading beets at the sugar factory, and Thursday, Jt was said there win not a man on the job who threw off ' more beets than did Mr. Wagner. Thursday night in visiting a butcher shop, we caught Mr. Wagner getting a very large supply of beefsteak an I inquiry divulged the fact that he expected to bold the job yet today. That Benton Harbor has reason Io be proud of its latest architectural achievement was shown in the public reception on Wednesday evening at the Dwan hotel and bath house at the comer of Territori?’ and Fifth streets. An immense crowd responded to the invitation to the public to come and Insjiect the magnificent interior of inc new hostelry. Roses and carnations were given a» souvenirs, and music was furnished by an orchestra during the evening. Refreshments were also dispensed. Messrs. Dwan and their wives showed their geniality and cordiality in hospitable welcome they accorded each and every one. The furnishings of the bedroom suites, halls, parlors and pr'vate baths are handsome and every modern facility has been used to make the guests comfortable.
